Dear Souldiers,

As you may or may not be aware, we encountered a runtime issue with the legacy Phantasma codebase currently in production.

After three days of extensive analysis, our technical team concluded that instead of backporting a hotfix, the best path forward is to expedite the roll-out of the Phoenix update.

Turning Lemons into Lemonade 🍋

We had originally planned a slower rollout with a liveOps chain crossover. However, this unplanned outage presents an opportunity to pivot to a hard crossover, greatly speeding up the transition process.

🔹 Chain Upgrade Background

The Gen 4 chain code began in 2023, moved to full production in February 2024, and launched its first private testnet in September 2024—which has maintained uninterrupted uptime ever since.

Our new production-ready testnet (with the latest features and optimizations) has been launched and will be made public this week.

Bug Fixes & Adjustments: We’ll be monitoring closely and ironing out any kinks encountered from the first deployment.
