I got smoked in the ribs by somebody's drive today while sitting in my cart waiting to tee off myself. First time I've ever been hit by a stray shot on the course. It hurt, but it could've been a lot worse.
The reason I tell this story is what happened after.
I was sitting in my cart waiting for the group in the fairway ahead of me to clear out, in the shade under some trees because it was 94 degrees out. And, also because trees should provide some protection from stray shots! Oh, the irony.
So I get hit and the ball lands in the cart. After being confused for a second about what the hell just happened, I turn to my left, where the ball came from and see a guy cowering with that "oooh no" kind of posture. He never yelled fore, which is pretty standard practice. I know he didn't because I had no music or anything on, and I was only 150 yards away. This man duck-hooked a horrible drive. I wave at him, and he sheepishly waves back.
He and his partner then proceed to tee off again. I watch on high alert. They do not hit me this time. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for the foursome ahead of me to move on, and I'm also waiting for the guy who hit me to come over to get his ball, and apologize or check on me or something.
But he never does.
Seriously, he and his partner just sit on the tee box waiting for me to tee off and leave. Eventually, I do. Then, as I'm driving to my ball in the middle of the fairway (nbd), I turn around and see them drive up to where I left their ball after it hit me, pick it up, and quickly drive away.
Who the hell raised you? If you hit somebody with a shot on the course, check on them. Apologize. It happens. Be a normal human being.
Anyway, even though I only had three holes left to play at the time this happened, I'm blaming my poor score today on my sore ribs and confusion about how this person chose to handle the situation.
Class act: #Bills WR DJ Moore was at a Buffalo mall when he saw a store selling his jersey T-shirts...
He bought the entire stock for over $1,200 and asked the assistant manager to give them away for free to Bills fans. 👏👏

The best team in baseball in June, by a decent margin, is the Miami Marlins. They're about to go 20-6, have outscored opponents 129-78 this month and have the lowest CBT payroll in MLB. The Marlins' third-highest-paid player is Giancarlo Stanton, who last played for them in 2017.
🚨🎥⛳️ #NEW — Golf content creator Brad Dalke has announced that he is stepping away from Good Good Golf, after spending 3 years with the organization
His wife Abbie has been going through severe health issues such as a miscarriage, the discovery of a hole in her heart, and an ocular stroke resulting in permanent vision loss in one eye
“I just feel like I didn’t live up to par when it comes to being a husband for Abbie throughout this whole process, and that kills me inside,” Dalke explained in the raw, emotional video. “In this life in general, but also in this industry, you can get pulled in so many different directions. You have to film here, you have this obligation here, you got to go golf with someone here. You have to do all these things, and I just want to be centered with Abbie. I want to be centered with our future family. I just want to spend time with my wife and be present with my wife, because if there’s anything these last eight months have taught me, it’s that life can change in the blink of an eye, and I don’t want to let that pass because I was traveling … She’s my girl. She’s my everything. She’s my rock. I hate the fact that she has to go through all of this, and I hate the fact she has had to go through a lot of this a lot of the time without her husband. I don’t want that to happen again.”
