As we start the week , let’s remind ourselves: Rest is essential, self-care is non-negotiable, and self-love is our foundation. Honoring our boundaries and showing up for ourselves paves the way to a stronger, more compassionate community.
#MyMentalHealthMondays@QwomenHRDs
We are currently engaged in an important conversation on Kenya’s progress indicators for self-care, assessing how far we’ve come while identifying both our successes and the areas that require more attention. We are working towards understanding these indicators so that we can measure our collective efforts and ensure we are making a tangible impact on the ground.
As a collective, we are also focused on strengthening partner engagement throughout this process. The SCCG members play a key role in the success of self-care initiatives, and our collaboration allows us to adopt a more comprehensive and inclusive approach. Members’ insights and support are vital in shaping the self-care measurement metrics and aligning our strategies for maximum impact.
#SelfCareTrailblazers
Today marks the beginning of a productive two-day Selfcare Core Group Meeting led by the @MoH_DRMH
Our focus for the session is to reflect on the progress of selfcare implementation across the country and ensure we are on track with our Selfcare goals. We will also take this opportunity to introduce new members to the Selfcare Implementation Framework, helping everyone get familiar with the key concepts and approaches we are using.
Throughout the meeting, we will discuss how we can effectively measure the impact of selfcare by reviewing various metrics that can guide our work. As we conclude the sessions, we aim to set clear selfcare priorities for the upcoming quarter, so that our next steps are well-defined and targeted.
It’s an important moment for us to come together, share insights, and ensure we are making meaningful progress in promoting selfcare for all.

This year’s theme reminds us that the power of contraception lies in its ability to put control back in your hands. It’s about recognizing that your body is your own, and that you have the right to decide what happens to it without fear, without stigma, and with full support.
We are here to honor those choices and the women and girls in all their diversity who fight every day to protect them. Whether you’re deciding to delay childbirth, space your children, or avoid pregnancy altogether the choice is yours, and it’s a choice that deserves respect and support.
#WorldContraceptionDay2024
There are many misconceptions surrounding contraception, from false beliefs about its impact on fertility to societal pressure that discourages its use. Our goal today is to break through these barriers and provide accurate information about the wide range of contraceptive options available, including long-acting, short-acting, permanent, and emergency methods.
From the pill to IUDs, implants to condoms—contraception allows individuals and couples to choose what works best for their needs. We believe that with knowledge comes power, and that by spreading awareness, we are laying the foundation for a healthier, more informed generation.
#WorldContraceptionDay2024
As we commemorate #WorldContraceptionDay2024, let’s take a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come, but also how far we have to go. Whether you’re a young person seeking guidance, a healthcare worker on the frontline, or a parent supporting your children’s right to make informed choices your voice matters in this conversation.
The power is in our hands! let’s use it to create a future where every person, in Narok County and beyond, has access to the contraception they need and the freedom to live their life on their terms.
Together, let’s make contraception a conversation we can all have openly and confidently!

Happy #WorldContraceptionDay2024 as we celebrate an important milestone for women & girls in all their diversity across the globe! This year’s theme is clear and powerful- Contraception Choices: The Power is in My Hands. A reminder that each of us has the right to take control of our bodies, our health, and our future. But what does this mean, and why is it so critical?
In the ongoing panel discussion led by RHNK Youth Advocates, several key SRHR challenges they face have emerged.
These include a lack of accurate and timely information on SRH, stigma when seeking or asking about reproductive health services, and lack of safe spaces where they can express themselves and be heard.
There is also a significant gap in understanding the real issues and perspectives young people are dealing with, coupled with a rising concern over mental health.
This is a clear call for targeted interventions to ensure young people have access to the SRHR resources they require to support their empowerment. The #EmpowHer Project is working towards addressing these issues through partnerships.
Stakeholders can build trust and empower individuals to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health by listening attentively, offering clear information, and cultivating supportive spaces. This ultimately enhances their overall well-being.
#EmpowHerProject
These areas face significant challenges regarding Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, with high rates of early marriages and adolescent pregnancies—8.4% of women aged 15-19 in Nairobi and an alarming 21.8% in Kajiado have already become mothers.
#EmpowHerProject
The #EmpowHerProject seeks to address these challenges by offering SRHR solutions, specifically designed for the unique needs of these communities. This will be achieved through focused education, accessible healthcare, and strong support networks.
Research shows that comprehensive education around health and SRHR leads to better outcomes for young people. Remember, the strength of a generation lies not in the silence of its YP but in the knowledge they are given and the courage to use it. #LifeSkillsAndHealthEduaction
