Countries with far fewer resources have built functioning states. Meanwhile we are still debating electricity in 2026.
What Nigerians endure daily would break many nations.
One day this country will either collapse under the weight of that pressure… or catch up with its leaders.
@yabaleftonline That’s what the government says it is already doing.🙇🏾
Perhaps we should stop negotiating with terrorists and it will be less incentive to be one.

@ose_anenih Indeed!
But it’s not over.
I fear the only reason Amupitan was pressured to intervene was because Team Tinubu realized after the fact that they’ve inadvertently made things worse for themselves, by risking ADC weights having no option than collapse behind OK thereafter.
The judge who delivered the judgment at the lower court ignored an Appeal Court ruling that he shouldn’t proceed with the case, went ahead, and then sent the judgment by WHATSAPP! Who are these people? | ADC deregistration: Appeal Court reverses FG's order https://t.co/yHNzVYIB6u
The morning after, it should be crystal clear to all Nigerians irrespective of party affiliations that Justice Peter Lifu is a threat to our Democracy. Apart from being saddled with the contrived cases against the ADC, he is also presiding over the cases of NDC and APM all aimed at deregistering the opposition parties. Any government that abhors opposition parties is intentionally creating room for chaos and anarchy. Like the Court of Appeal said yesterday, Justice Lifu is a misfit to the judiciary and is not qualified to sit at a beer parlour bench!
Empty chairs across the nation.
From Ogun, to Kwara, Kogi, Borno, Oyo states and across the country, empty chairs where children should be learning, playing, and dreaming about their future, not living in fear or captivity.
On the International Day of the African Child, Amnesty International Nigeria members stand in solidarity with children across Nigeria whose lives have been disrupted by abduction, conflict, and insecurity.
Continuing attacks on schools and abduction of children are painful reminders that Nigerian children remain at risk, and urgent action is needed to protect them.
President @officialABAT, Nigerian children cannot wait!!!
Take urgent action to bring every child in captivity home!!!
Protect schools from attack, strengthen community security, and guarantee every child's right to safety and education!!!
Every child is precious.
Every child must come home.
Every child is our nation's future.

A couple of things.
Factually, two ADC candidates won their house of rep elections in 2023, so the party - on the face of it - is not in breach of section 225A of the Constitution that empowers INEC to deregister political parties.
The likely outcome is that this case will eventually be resolved by the Supreme Court in favour of the ADC.
However this will likely deal a mortal blow to the ADC, and this is most probably an intentional ploy. As it stands, the ADC cannot engage with INEC, cannot submit her list of elected candidates, and her candidates cannot campaign - because of this act of judicial banditry.
This, my friends, is how democracy dies.
The so-called deregistration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) @ADCNig along with other parties by Justice Peter Lifu may yet be the biggest manifestation of Tinubu’s hell-bent bid to undermine the opposition and entrench a defacto one-party state. The judgment is the height of judicial rascality.
The Court of Appeal presided over by Justices Mohammed A. Danjuma, Adebunkunola A. Banjoko, Oyejoju O. Oyewumi had in Appeal CA/ABJ/CV/569/2026 and suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/2637/2025 ordered Justice Peter Lifu to stay further action on the matter until the hearing and determination of the Appeal before it. The hearing for the appeal was scheduled for the 27th of October 2026. That order was dated 22nd of May 2026.
Nigerians and the international community can see the level of desperation of government of the ruling party to either have their way in the 2027 elections or destroy our democracy that was purchased at a huge cost.
Dickson, Obi, Kwankwaso have a historic opportunity not because they are special but because providence may have decided to grease the machine of Nigeria’s democracy through their partnership. They have a duty to posterity to keep their eyes on the ball. This is how men are made
@DHQNigeria 🙇🏾
The “series of unfortunate abductions across Nigeria” has been going on forever.
So this inspires zero confidence.
Leaders are more interested in what they can steal from the nation than any public service.
Nigeria is hostage to criminals in the forests and in government.

I graduated from #Harvard with a PhD in May. It still feels like a dream. I’m grateful to the shy little girl who dared to dream, who inspired me to go farther than I ever saw. I’ll never be able to shake off the weight of this moment. God truly is the Sustainer of our #dreams.
@aonanuga1956 “Or face the force of the Nigerian State”.
Insanely moronic that “bandits, kidnappers and terrorists” still get optional way out.
Is it not obvious Nigeria is the one facing their wrath?
More Generals have died in Nigeria at their hands than in some nations in full blown war.
