"The rescue crew left the scene after handing over the fire extinguisher [to Loek Hartog] out of fear. And the ambulance didn't arrive until fifteen minutes later, because the ambulance driver was asleep and, even when someone knocked on his window, he didn't wake up", he describes.

"After the race, the stewards summoned us to the hearing room without any concern for the driver's condition", Baijie continues. "I was shocked that the stewards' first reaction was to laugh, and to try to shift the blame onto us drivers. Even the chief steward arrogantly characterized the incident as a 'low‑level mistake'. My teammate is a factory driver and a Daytona winner; it's unbelievable that their first instinct was to try to steer public opinion against us to reduce their own negative exposure."
