Little River headed to 1A-I state in Dodgre City as they defeated Oxford in the Canton-Galva Sub-State, 59-53, tonight. LR is headed to state for the first time since 2021 and 11th time in school history. #sportsinkansas
QB Logan Renken (5) of Little River HS is going to be a major problem for opposing teams in 2024. Renken, one of the states top baseball players, is out for football his senior season after not playing football his junior year. Rushed for 214 Yards against Chase County on Friday. Sophomore teammate Jaren Garrison (9) rushed for 146 more in the 42-22 win over Chase County. Not to compare this to 2020 with Jayden Garrison & Graham Stephens in the same backfield but look out for LR as they are a contender once again in 8M-I under legendary head coach Kevin Ayers. #sportsinkansas photo: Erin Wohletz
@Coachnitsche is perfect for it. He knows how to win and knows what it takes. Forever one of my favorite coaches. Coming from a Hutch alumni, this would be perfect 🐲⚪️🔵🔴 @Hutchmbb

Talked to West @KSShrineBowl HC Tony Crough (Hays HS) on radio today
Grady Seyfert (Beloit, 2x SIK 2A DPOY, KU PWO) & Will Anciaux (Kapaun, KSU signee) are really jumping off the page.
Also said Braxton Lafferty of Little River (SIK 8M-I DPOY) is the real deal at OLB. Also high praises for Bryce Salmans (Hays), Keenan Schartz (Manhattan SIK Top 11), Jake Proctor (Hesston, 3A SIK🏀 POY) #sportsinkansas
Just weeks after the end of football season and being named Sports in Kansas 8M-I Defensive Player of the Year, Little River’s Braxton Lafferty already switching his focus to the hardwood, averaging 21.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 4.8 steals per game through 4 games.
