she kinda had a point but she didn’t have the capacity to intro that topic… (i think) the example that white people just get to be ‘american’ while black people are ‘african american’ … like there’s always a forced descriptor for minorities to distinguish them from “the norm” … when the norm (typically straight white christian) just get to live without everyone forcing labels to define them. like it’s a privilege we don’t recognize for others to not be referred to by their minority label if that makes sense.
