Was Trump convicted of 34 crimes? No. He was convicted of ONE crime, a misdemeanor whose statute of limitations had passed for falsifying business records which the state claimed involved 34 entries. Every entry was a count. But calling it "34 counts" makes it sound much worse.

With regards to the "predicate crime" that made this a felony, we may never know. The most bizarre case in the history of jurisprudence. This was the definition of "much ado about nothing."
