Allah knows the perfect timing🌱
For 8 years, I carried this dream.
I knocked on doors. I sent emails.
I attended meetings. I heard promises. I faced disappointments. And many times, I went back to my farm and kept waiting.
Today, something I have waited for for years finally happened.
Not because of the promises.
Not because of the doors I knocked on.
Because Allah decided it was time.
Sometimes the answer is not no. Sometimes it is simply not yet.
Alhamdulillah.
Soon, I will share more Insha Allah

Today marked the last day of Ms. Tanja Pacifico as Chief of Mission of @DjiboutiIom
It has been a privilege working with her and witnessing her leadership, professionalism and commitment to strengthening the connection between #IOM and local communities in Djibouti.
I also had the honor of recently welcoming her on #253Talk for an important conversation on Djibouti, migration and women.
Thank you, Tanja, for your dedication and for the meaningful impact you leave behind.
Wishing you every success in this next chapter 🇩🇯

Beautiful Friday filled with gratitude, purpose and hope.
Today was more than a symbolic moment for Women Initiative #Djibouti. It was a reminder that when institutions choose to invest in women, they invest in stronger families, resilient communities and a more inclusive future.
I am deeply honored, as the Head of Women Initiative Djibouti, to witness and receive the generous support from #IGAD and to meet @DrWorkneh, a leader who, since his appointment, has continued to make time for women and support women-led initiatives across the region.
These actions matter because grassroots women matter.
Every woman we support carries a story of resilience:
women waking up before sunrise,
women balancing motherhood and business, young girls dreaming of independence, women refusing to give up despite economic hardship.
This support, alongside capacity-building efforts, innovation funds and continued collaboration with @IGADsecretariat, shows that empowering women economically is not charity, it is development, stability and community transformation.
Thank you Excellency @DrWorkneh and team for believing in local women-led initiatives.
And thank you to everyone working every day to ensure that no woman is left behind.
When women rise, nations rise. 🇩🇯

Never admire quietly.
If something in someone moves you, tell them.
We don’t always see what’s beautiful in ourselves until someone names it out loud.

Day 16
Alhamdulillah
I am in #addis for the #IGAD Women on Agrifood Systems Forum.
I am sharing this video of my harvest because this conversation is also my reality. I am not only talking about #agriculture I live it.
I am a farmer, and like many women, I work with the land every day.
For me, this forum is about making sure the voices of women farmers are heard.

Day3 at the #IGAD Ministerial Conference on Women, Peace and Security in #Nairobi
From policy to practice.
From commitments to tools.
From words to data.
The launch of the #IGAD Gender Statistics Strategy 2026–2030 & the Gendered Intersectionality Toolkit is not symbolic it is structural.
Because peace without data is fragile. And #genderequality without accountability is incomplete.
Grateful to witness regional leadership moving from declarations to measurable action.

Day 4 #Ramadan
Through this lens, I see more than land.I see growth.I see resilience.
I see purpose.🌱 This week, my farm was selected as a Field Trip site during the 4th edition of the @GreenWallAfrica
Residential Seminar in #Djibouti, bringing together representatives from the 11 member countries.
On the ground, there is no theory.
There are results.
This field trip allowed delegations to witness concretely:
The central role of #women in #climateresilience
A few years ago, this land was empty
Today, it produces. It nourishes. It trains.Seeing representatives from African countries walk on this soil, ask technical questions, and analyze our practices gave deep meaning to our daily commitment.
The Great Green Wall is a continental initiative. But its success depends on local, concrete, measurable actions led by #women and #Youth
We do not only speak about restoration.
We practice it.

Every session I lead is a two-way street.
I come to teach, but I leave having learned from participants their questions and perspectives.
The best facilitators come with humility, listen closely, keep things engaging, and inspire reflection. Impact isn’t what you say it’s what stays with people.
My mantra: train, facilitate, co-learn.
Always!

Proud mama 🌱
My okras are doing so well, Alhmdulillah 🙏🏾250 kgs.
I am still smiling as I write this.
Early mornings.
Dirty hands.
Quiet prayers.
And the land answered.
This is my year.
Truly this was my year.
To every woman who waits, who believes even when no one is watching: keep going.
The harvest will come.
And 2026… please be kind to this farmer.
She needs make-up, colorful clothes, and definitely chocolate 🤣🍫

Last week in #Addis, I stepped into the role of a journalist–influencer during the #IGAD Journalism & #Influencer Training.
Two days of learning how to analyse #FoodSystems, communicate with accuracy, and turn lived experience into meaningful stories.
From the Food Systems Wheel to honest discussions on #visibility and #resilience, I was reminded that communication is not an accessory it’s part of the food system itself.
As farmers, we are not just subjects. We are storytellers.
Listening to experts and creators from across the region, I felt my voice sharpen and my responsibility grow: to document, explain, advocate and inspire.
From this learning emerged #BorderlessSeeds a regional idea to let stories, practices and solutions travel across #IGAD countries, just as challenges do: without borders.
Thank you #FSRPIGAD for investing in our voices and strengthening our capacity to communicate for our communities. 🌱
