@grahamdoherty @trafficscotland @NETrunkRoads @AngusCouncil The A90 is open north of Brechin, having just driven up it to Aberdeen. Not sure about between Brechin and Dundee as we went via the A92 and local roads from Montrose to Brechin.

@jinnieeepop We followed the google maps route via. Montrose and Brechin. It’s a bit slow going through Brechin as the only bridge open is single lane. Plenty of water beside the roads but the roads themselves are fine!

@AndyBurnhamGM Anyone who thinks HS2 is purely about saving time London > Manchester needs to look at the bigger picture. It’s about capacity at Piccadilly and on the West Coast mainline, without which none of these miraculous upgrades in the North will make a jot of difference.

@MartinSLewis @bbc5live An elderly man was in the queue in front of my fiancé in the post office. His pension hadn’t gone into his account, he’d run out of gas and electricity and he didn’t have enough money to top up. We put £20 on each of his accounts to see him through. Heartbreaking.
