#BainFIRE [UPDATE 5/19/26 8:30PM] The fire is now 1,374 acres and 10% contained. Air and ground resources will remain on scene overnight, working diligently to build containment lines around the perimeter of the fire. Air resources will also be assigned throughout the evening, dropping water and retardant.

Evacuation ORDERS and WARNINGS remain in effect. Please avoid the area, as heavy equipment and personnel continue working and will be entering and exiting the area.

This will be the final update for the evening, barring any significant fire activity or evacuation changes.

#BainFire is now impacting the train trestle well east of Van Buren. They're saying this is a long range spot fire or new start. Resources are being sent to Jurupa Ave and Wilderness Ave on the Riverside City side for access.

- They're now shutting down Van Buren Blvd between Jurupa Ave and Clay St.
- Sounds like it may have jumped the river and going to be impacting the area of Archer St and Kennedy St.
- They may also be putting in an Evacuation Warning or Order for Serendipity Rd (Has to be Bain St because Serendipity doesn't go thru to Limonite) and Van Buren south of Limonite.
- The Riverside Animal Shelter is also going to be under an Evacuation Order.

Today I met with the newest CCW class. I was able to let them know that our Assembly Member James Ramos was able to put forth legislation that extended their CCW permits from 2 to 3 years!
