I am incredibly proud of the advanced technology our department continues to implement through the use of drones.
Providing critical information in real time helps our deputies respond more effectively, solve crimes faster, and enhance the safety of both our communities and our personnel.
I encourage you to watch this video to learn more about our Drone as First Responder Program and the impact it is already having across San Bernardino County.
@VictorvillePD
The Office of the Sheriff in partnership with the city of Victorville successfully launched the Drone as First Responder Program.
Drone technology enhances public safety, strengthens response capabilities, and provides critical aerial support when it matters most.
I was in Sacramento this afternoon to testify in the Joint Legislative Audit Committee and want to thank the committee, @suzettemartinez, and @AsmMRodriguez for authoring and advancing this important audit of Prop. 47 grants for substance abuse, drug, and alcohol recovery programs under the oversight of the BSCC.
Californians deserve transparency, accountability, and measurable outcomes that reduce recidivism.
@AsmHarabedian
This morning, I met with Chiefs from several local school district police agencies to discuss consistency and uniformity within the Memorandums of Understanding between all involved agencies, as well as continued efforts to strengthen overall school safety throughout our communities.
Strong partnerships and collaboration are critical when it comes to protecting our students, staff, and families. I appreciate the shared commitment from each of these leaders as we continue working together to keep our schools safe across San Bernardino County.
Participating agencies included: • Rich Randolph – Fontana School District Police (FUSD) • Todd Espindola – Snowline School District Police • John Billings – Hesperia School District Police • Christopher Stowell – Victor Valley Union High School District (VVUHSD)

This morning we honored the life and legacy of Sgt. Dominic Vaca on the 5th anniversary of his ultimate sacrifice.
His law enforcement family, friends, local leaders and community members stood beside Dominic’s family to show their love and support for a man who was a true leader in every sense of the word.
Sgt. Vaca led by example and earned the respect of everyone around him through his actions, courage and character.
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13
Dom, we honor you today and always. We will continue to stand beside your incredible family, keeping them under our wings and close to our hearts. They are strong, resilient and would make you incredibly proud.

Sergeant Dominic Vaca was killed in the line of duty on May 31, 2021, when he was shot following a vehicle pursuit of a motorcycle in Yucca Valley. Sergeant Vaca was flown to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Dominic served his country in the United States Army before pursuing a career with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department in 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie, and two daughters, Angie, and Makayla.
Please take a moment today to remember Sergeant Dominic Vaca, who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This afternoon I attended the Junior Livestock Auction at the San Bernardino County Fair grounds. Our youth showing off their hard work!

Grant, buddy, today was all about you. Your law enforcement family wrapped their arms around your loved ones and showed up in your honor.
I couldn’t be more proud of Academy Class 243 for hosting today’s “4 for Him” run honoring Sgt. Grant Ward while helping support the fight against pancreatic cancer.
Grant had a way of inspiring everyone around him with his faith, strength, and unforgettable spirit. I know he was smiling down on all of us today, cheering every step with his signature, “Yeah Buddy!”

I am proud of the investigation done by the members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office, and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Thank you to the Riverside County District Attorney's Office for their unwavering pursuit of justice. I only wish we were able to locate Emmanuel to give him the proper burial he so deserves.

11 firearms seized, including two ghost guns, in the latest Operation Consequences.
This is proactive policing at its best. Our deputies and partner agencies continue working together to get dangerous weapons off the streets and keep our communities safe.
Great work by everyone involved.
Thank you to everyone who participated in today’s Murph at the Academy, honoring our fallen heroes this Memorial Day.
Today was about honor, remembrance, and grit — pushing through with purpose while remembering the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

The camaraderie, tradition and support for our community continue to make this event something special year after year.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is proud to recognize our deputies honored at the 2026 Mothers Against Drunk Driving Inland Empire Recognition Awards.
Their commitment to removing impaired drivers from our roadways helps keep our communities safe and saves lives.
Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients, and thank you for your dedication to public safety.
It was a pleasure serving on today’s panel at the League of California Cities alongside Sheriff Chad Bianco, Chief Larry Gonzales, Chief Rudy Lopez, and Lt. William Hutchison.
We had an important discussion about the funding needed to support Prop 36, the critical role technology plays in solving crimes, and the importance of community-led policing.
These are issues we are all passionate about, and I appreciated the opportunity to share our perspectives and work together on solutions that help keep our communities safe.
