Today, we honor Deputies Hector Cuevas, Jr. and Andrew Nunez. Their legacy now lives alongside so many others who gave everything in service to their communities and today we also honor all of our fallen heroes.
We stand with their families today. We remember the men behind the badge, the way they showed up for this job, and for each of us.
Today, Deputies Hector Cuevas, Jr. and Andrew Nunez are being formally enrolled on the California Peace Officer Memorial Wall.
This is one of the hardest traditions we carry. One we never get used to.
Their names are now etched alongside those who gave everything in this profession and today we also honor all of our fallen heroes.

This year we honored Deputy Hector Cuevas, Jr. and Deputy Andrew Nuñez, who were both killed in the line of duty in 2025.
We also thank Sheriff Shannon Dicus for speaking and participating in the run, and the Sheriff’s Athletic Federation for their partnership and for managing the on-course logistics that help make this event possible.
