This past WEEKEND, I had the DISTINCT PLEASURE of paying yet another courtesy visit to His Excellency PROF. ARTHUR PETER MUTHARIKA, the President of the Republic of Malawi. Our conversation, as always, was very enriching and I marvelled at the VISION His Excellency has for the people and NATION of Malawi 👏🏽👏🏽. I continue to be deeply IMPRESSED by His Excellency’s razor-sharp intellect and calm leadership DISPOSITION. What I can confirm WITHOUT any fear of CONTRADICTION is that President MUTHARIKA is a leader who has a very CLEAR sense of purpose and long-term NATIONAL vision of where he intends to take his Country – FORWARD !!!! 💪🏽

Barely TWO MONTHS in office, His Excellency has already set a new tone for GOVERNANCE. His bold decision to reduce the size of Cabinet from over 40 ministries to a LEANER but more EFFICIENT and focused 22 Ministries has sent a POWERFUL message of FISCAL DISCIPLINE and institutional reform of EPIC PROPORTION 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Under his VISIONARY leadership, President MUTHARIKA’s administration has also introduced FREE EDUCATION for both primary and secondary school learners, thus affording an opportunity for THOUSANDS of children, particularly in rural communities, to receive BASIC EDUCATION. His Excellency has indeed injected fresh energy into the Malawian economy and restored hope to families across the country.

As someone passionate about INFRASTRUCTURE and ENERGY DEVELOPMENT, I was particularly pleased that our discussion touched on the untapped potential of LAKE MALAWI and the vast opportunities around a FLOATING SOLAR and MINI-HYDRO projects. Lake Malawi has the capacity to generate more than 1000MW and I am confident that President MUTHARIKA’s administration understands the urgency of expanding ENERGY ACCESS and welcomes PRIVATE SECTOR participation to accelerate that agenda.

What struck me the MOST was the President’s sincerity and how he remains deeply connected to the people of MALAWI even at GRASSROOT LEVEL. His clarity of thought and FIRM leadership posture are quite RARE but very inspiring. Malawi is indeed BLESSED to have a Head of State whose ENTIRE focus is on serving his PEOPLE through economic development and fostering NATIONAL UNITY across the socio-political divide.

His Excellency, I extend my deepest appreciation for yet another opportunity to learn and tap into your RICH WISDOM. You are a leader of great intellect and under your stewardship, the future of Malawi is very BRIGHT 🇲🇼
