This is bad for 2 reasons:
1) Students have no choice but to work >20hrs to survive. The unofficial nature of Alpha College’s announcement means more students will face exploitation by employers.
2) Students don’t want their studies to stop, especially those close to graduating.

However, Alpha College has forced students into an “unofficial” drop without any prior notice. Many students have not even been given confirmation that they will be able to stay enrolled for the September intake.

Hundreds of int'l students have been left in crisis after Alpha College (a private college) forced them to take an unofficial “drop.”

An official “drop” is a regularly scheduled break in the academic calendar. During this time, int'l students can work over the 20 hr/week limit.
