Raising the Flag on Tarawa (1943) 🇺🇸
Colorized footage captures U.S. Marines raising the American flag over Betio following the Battle of Tarawa in November 1943.
After 76 hours of brutal fighting, the island was finally secured. As the Stars and Stripes rose above the battlefield, battle-worn Marines stood at attention and saluted in honor of the fallen and the hard-fought victory.
A solemn moment marking one of the bloodiest amphibious battles of the Pacific War.
As in it maybe long and with an intro with some opinion about freedom then it’ll be a gonzo/beat type story but I won’t force the Hunter Thompson and Jack Kerouac style of writing but you’ll see the traces of the 2 writers
The Jets cut Chad Pennington for Brett Farve and he responded by being the MVP runner up with the Dolphins.
Crazy what could’ve been with that team/era if he could stay healthy #Jets
Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run, but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant.

My War is the second studio album by American punk band Black Flag, released in March 1984.
Because of the slower B-side, the album had a major impact on the development of sludge metal and grunge

Kurt Cobain would’ve turned 59 today.
Still wild how “Smells Like Teen Spirit” didn’t just launch Nirvana — it reset rock’s whole timeline. That SNL performance on Jan 11, 1992? Pure electricity.
Thanks, Kurt. 🕯️
