I used to run home from basketball practice
Just to watch the games during the🌹era.

I was a freshman in high school when Derrick Rose got drafted. That team is a core memory for me & what started my entire Bulls fandom.
As I grew, that team grew simultaneously.
Stacey King is the voice behind all of the excitement
& the passion that started my entire love for this Bulls team.

A goal of mine was to work hard enough with my guys over at @TheRoundtaBulls to one day be able to meet Stacey in person & to thank him for everything.
& shake his hand. & talk about how the team is FINALLY fun again. This is the dude right here who was the light during some extremely dark times as a Bulls fan.

All of his antics, all of his jokes. He even drove us crazy sometimes with his line "IT'S A SIMPLE GAME" but shit like that is what endeared him to us in the first place.

I'm deeply gutted by this.
This feels like the loss of a family member.
Rest in Peace, Stacey. No one will ever fill your shoes
Thank you so much for everything you gave to this fanbase, and to so many of our childhoods. You were the light that kids like me would look to during dark years living in Chicago.
My heart & soul goes out to your loved ones.

One of the things I was most excited for about this new era, was getting to hear his take on things & listen to him call the games. The man that kept the games exciting for this fanbase, when the team itself couldn’t even do it.
