The thing about casual sex is it has little to no appeal to a real lover. The thought of having sex with someone I do not care deeply for feels so hollow and meaningless
Nike severed ties with Kyrie Irving while he still had the best-selling signature shoe of any active player in the NBA on its roster, because he was too “controversial” and they needed to protect the company’s image from his “hate speech.”
Meanwhile…Nike has at least 36 stores in Israel. The same Israel that the United Nations declared as committing a genocide against Palestinians. I guess that’s not “controversial” or hateful enough to sever ties.
Ky bounced, regrouped, and reemerged with ANTA.
The result…
“ANTA was the fastest-growing sneaker brand on StockX in 2024, with 1,901% year-over-year trade growth, and multiple reports attribute that surge largely to Kyrie’s KAI.”
Nike, they’re trying to blame bad sales on NBA players not being as popular, at a time when the NBA is experiencing its highest viewership in 15 years.
Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth. #ApostolicJourney#Cameroon https://t.co/bKteFZ3iWE
It’s more like: if political leaders are constantly playing with Christian theology to justify their politics, they shouldn’t be surprised if a Christian leader steps in and offers them a theological correction.
Killing diplomatic representative who come to negotiate was a practice morally abhorred by 5,000 years of civilization. But now--after the last month's wanton killings of leaders--it seems to have become accepted as a normal practice.
The descent into extraordinary barbarism is extraordinarily rapid.
Those who pray are aware of their own limitations; they do not kill or threaten with death. Instead, death enslaves those who have turned their backs on the living God, turning themselves and their own power into a mute, blind and deaf idol (Ps 115:4–8), to which they sacrifice every value, demanding that the whole world bend its knee. Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war! True strength is shown in serving life. #Peace
Under capitalism, it's normal to let children go hungry, let banks force people out of their homes, let sick people die for lack of access to healthcare.
But the idea that billionaires could just be less rich, not poor, not struggling, just less rich, is considered insane.
