if you’ve ever seen something bad happen in alabama or mississippi or tennessee or georgia or any other southern or appalachain state and thought to yourself “that’s what they get” you don’t get to mourn dolly parton. i hope this helps.
if you’ve ever tweeted about the rise of illiteracy please donate to dolly parton’s imagination library!
along with the gift of her music, a cornerstone of her legacy is her dedication to helping children read. she rests as an educator and so much more https://t.co/NVvVBfK90W
in all seriousness I don’t think non-Tennesseans really understand just how much Dolly gave back to the community here. she was actively working to support children, the lgbtq+ community, people of all races and identities, and she was working to improve southern literacy rates +
please everybody do not forget how important dolly’s philanthropy towards impoverished & illiterate communities in the south & appalachia was. i’m so so heartbroken
and as someone that stayed at a Dolly Parton themed airbnb in nashville + worked at a place that had a Dolly ice cream before when I was in tn… this is the worst news
