From an NFL vet: “High school athletes care too much about where the strength coach played ball. College athletes care too much about how much he can lift. Pros care about what you KNOW!” I think I have met some good ones at each level that have that pro mindset.
S&C coaches do what they do because they live for the every day not just game day. We spend 99% of our year working behind the scenes preparing athletes so they can shine for that 1%. We embrace & maximize the mundane so they can experience the monumental. That’s the job.
