I was thrilled with problem solving today from Year 1.
There are so many different ways shown showing their understanding of what makes 12 and 21 different.
I'm so proud!

Year 1 have been learning about the place value of numbers 20-30 this week. They played the mixed up numberline game in groups. Then, they made numbers using sticks that represent the 10s and smaller natural materials to represent the units outside.

Messy play is the best play!
We've loved exploring the inside and outside of pumpkins today. We've thought of descriptive words, measured the circumference, and used tweezers to pick out the seeds to develop our fine motor skills.

Now we understand what 'Respect ' is it was time for us to go into our community to see if it is being treated with respect.
We found lots of litter on the floor and the children were shocked. Watch this space to see how we decide to 'take action' in our inquiry
@WoodlandsPrima1
To continue our inquiry on respect, we spoke about how it is our right to feel safe in school, and it is our responsibility to speak up if we see unkindness. The story 'I choose to speak up' helped our understanding of this.
Here are our posters highlighting what we've learnt.
We have loved using the resources in our classroom this week to begin our understanding of place value in a number. We have explored teen numbers using ten frames, numicon and deines rods, as well as enjoying a musical maths session.
