Steven Spielberg has written a tribute about the late Sam Neill after his tragic passing.

“I owe a debt of gratitude to Roger Donaldson, Gilliam Armstrong, Graham Baker and Phillip Noyce for casting Sam Neill in the roles in which he was so brilliant that brought him to my attention and led to his playing Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park.

Sam was exceptionally collaborative. It was a stretch for him to play a character who acted as though children were messy and smelly because this was the opposite of the loving father he was to his children. 

I adored making all the Jurassic movies with him. Along with Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, we will always have our Jurassic family and Sam will never be forgotten by us or his many millions of fans around the world.”

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic is being funded by new holding company investing in revered video-game creators, including ex-Mass Effect director Casey Hudson

Details:

▪️Funded by new 'GreaterThan Group' (G2G), led by former NetEase veteran Simon Zhu
▪️Zhu wasn't happy and left NetEase after it canceled multiple titles and slashed investments in new studios that he personally helped build up
▪️G2G has raised $100M so far
▪️Zhu thinks the industry has overcorrected in the last few years by piling into trendier sectors, tech, AI, etc, and sees now as an opportunity to scoop up top, undervalued talent to build something new
▪️FOTOR won't take hundreds of hours to play, "bigger isn't necessarily better"
▪️Like many branching RPGs, players can replay FOTOR and discover other storylines
▪️Casey Hudson doesn't plan to use AI in FOTOR, "I just find AI to be creatively soulless", "I'm just really unimpressed with it"
