@samtalksreo I have the engine nailed down based on all the info compiled. As long as REO can get a contract we are good as gold as far as it being a well known engine and being from a reputable manufacturer.
@samtalksreo That being said the T4x would have a 6.5' bed and the T4c would have a 4' bed. This is all sizing based on the fact that the overall length is shorter than a Ford maverick. If you've been around a late 80s ford ranger with a 7' bed that is the size we are working with.
@SlowboatReborn@reoindustries@grok Do both big dawg one of these will look great next to my 93 and my 21! If these are what we are all hoping for I'll replace my 2021 f150 with the S4C after I get my T4X
Easter Egg:
Every Runabout will come with a stout engine designed for longevity.
But…..the engine mount in the chassis and the transmission tunnel are also designed to accept common swaps like the LS, K, and B58 from day one for customers who like to void warranties.
We call it a doomsday hedge…you call it what you want.
@TravisTmyth@reoindustries Yup could've bought a full set of aftermarkets for that 🤣 its absolutely disgusting. I dont care what these parts look like honestly I just want to be able to buy replacement parts for a reasonable amount
@TravisTmyth@reoindustries Amen simplicity is all people that actually work on their trucks want! No bullshit! My window switch is wearing out or acting up on my 21 f150. You know how much a new one is? $400 🥲 I'll buy the S4C and T4X if I have to just to get away from this modern garbage
Easter Egg:
The Runabout is very likely transitioning to solid front axle-solid rear axle instead of the IFS-solid rear axle at first announcement.
Discussions are being had to increase on road comfort with adjustable caster and elimination of steering sway for daily drivers.
Easter Egg:
All Runabouts will feature what are commonly called “sealed beam” headlights. Less than $100 to replace all the headlights on the truck with nationwide availability from Amazon to Autozone.
We have integrated the sealed beam style into our design to look completely fresh in another “never been done before” aesthetic.
This plays on old square bodies of the past while carrying REO into the future.
@KJPX05C@reoindustries You do realize that most sealed beam do come with leds now right? Base model may end up being halogen or similar. Do some research before sliding to a conclusion. The oem headlight housings on my truck are over $1200 for a set i would gladly pay a sum of $200 to upgrade
Easter Egg:
Our door handles are practical, simple, and affordable.
As you’ll see soon, they make the body lines of the truck completely unobstructed.
This is an innovation we brought for design and functionality that has never been done in automotive before.
I'm just eating up these edits! This green is an absolute killer! Reduced my last REO S4C to basics with plastic bumpers and no accessories along with some tweaks. Really hoping @reoindustries sees some production models! Hoping the best for @Zachdebo and anyone else involved!
@reoindustries@Zachdebo That is definitely something I think we can all get behind! As long as they're able to be replaced with a metal bumper or abe to be upgraded via aftermarket options to a tougher workhorse type bumper I think you're on the right path to make a tough little truck!
