Deep became so fucking miserable and broken that Annie lost her killing intent toward him.
Brought him to the beach so he could be in an comfortable environment to talk things out, launched him in the water to calm him down and this is what happens, I get her reaction 😭
one of my favorite things about the finale is that you can see how much antony starr relished playing a depowered homelander. he captured perfectly how broken and small he is, everything down to the mannerisms and the voice change is SO well done
the use of enchanted for this scene was so perfect, like the part of the song that goes “please don’t be in love with someone else” playing over sophie saying he doesn’t want to find her but the lady in silver like literally genius
I'm trying to figure out why so many people think that Homelander was going to get stronger after taking V1. Wasn't it stated that the point of V1 was he'd be immortal and couldn't be killed by the virus or am I missing something #TheBoys
In The Boys finale, Homelander had to look powerless according to Eric Kripke
“Yeah, it was really important to us for Homelander to at least experience a little bit of time powerless.”
“People have asked me, ‘Well, why don’t you send him out in the world powerless, wouldn’t that be the ultimate punishment?’
“I’m like, it would, until he gets his hands on some more Compound V, and then you’re back to where you started.”
“So, he cannot walk out of that room alive, but we can spend time with him powerless to really reveal what everyone’s been saying all season, which is, ‘Take away those powers and you are nothing.’
“And he’s so cowardly and blubbering and pathetic, as are most strong men when you remove their power and they’re and they’re faced with their imminent death, they rarely handle it bravely.”
The only issue I had with it was Homelander groveling, the whole 'I'll suck you off' and 'eat your ****' (not verbatim) thing was a little lewd and could have done differently but then again, thinking back on it this is The Boys and in that sense it does make sense. #TheBoys
I think people are grasping for straws with this finale. Like there were the flaws in it (the season in general), but Homelanders end makes a lot of sense within how they've been building his character. #TheBoys
People called him all sorts of things because of these lines but his tired face added so much to the character and you realize that when he is eventually not tired. It tells you so much about how society tires him out & Sophie calms him down. Imo, this only made him extra hot
Black Noirs silence was a funeral of his stolen dreams. They were heroes mistreated by Vought. They were on their way to becoming great talented actors for their careers. Justice for their families will be made & their voices will be heard.
Rest In Peace, Justin & Earving🌹🪦🖤
