I'm back. »

People on the timeline keep saying that all of Argentina’s players help Messi, while Ronaldo’s teammates are jealous of him.
First of all, let’s agree on one thing: Portugal, as a team and in terms of individual quality, are miles ahead of Argentina. You could argue that Argentina only have the edge in attack.
Portugal have arguably the best midfield in the world, the best left-back in the world, and even Cancelo is back in great form right now.
But the real issue is Ronaldo’s behavior on the pitch. He always wants to be the one taking the final shot and getting the spotlight. Sometimes it feels like he’s not even looking out for his teammates.
Yesterday, for example, Semedo put in a cross and Ronaldo wasn’t in a good position to shoot, while Bruno was completely free behind him. Naturally, Ronaldo chose to shoot anyway, and a huge chance that could have won Portugal the game was wasted.
That’s the real problem.
On the other hand, Messi has given penalties to teammates plenty of times throughout his career and has always shown that he puts the team first.
So what exactly would make Portugal’s players eager to help someone who seems more concerned with stealing the moment for himself?
Do you really think all 25 Portugal players have bad attitudes and they’re all the problem? Or is it more likely that the issue lies elsewhere? 🤷♂️
