Tweeting about infertility and calling it like I see it. From small town Alberta, now I make enough money to have fun, eat out and drink. Laughs are bonus.
My New Years resolution:
Be more open about infertility and fertility issues.
Asked “when are you having kids?” Instead saying “one day” or “soon” I’ll be open. “we have been trying for 3 years but hopefully soon”
Keeping quite about infertility continues to mask the issue.
An update on the 5 day freezie. The two week wait is over and the hCG was measured at 1095!
I know this is amazing, but now we are worried it’s too high🤦♂️
Infertility does awful things to make you distrust your body

1st day post egg retrieval:
We got some amazing news from our embryologist this morning! Both of the marginal eggs fertilized meaning we have 8 successful fertilization. We were only on 5 total.
We are targets for implantation in 5 days.

Today was egg retrieval day. After weeks of injections it was finally time.
By the numbers:
6 mature
2 immature
2 undetermined
Obviously we were hoping for more, but this is more then none. Now we wait for daily calls from the embryologist to update us on progress.
Here is our #IVF cocktail for the day. 3 separate injections. 2 injection require dissolving powder and transferring. To say we are a bit overwhelmed is an understatement. #TTC#infertility#howtobuyababy#homenurse#injection
Just got out of our first ultrasound check up and it’s looking promising.
9 well developed eggs and 2 slightly under developed eggs.
Dr. Has added two more injections for a total of 3/day

Ivf week 1:
We are fortunate that all our drugs were fully covered by private insurance.
We are getting better at needles. It’s been one injection a day but the pen style is far easier then the syringes.

@StephStixx a note of hope. A vaccine is being rolled out? Political positives. Raphael Warnock? Technology, success of the space x starship. A goal to return to the moon.
It could be a really interesting read for you both in 18 years. A narrative on how we have progressed as society 🤷♂️
