@aarontay FYI it's complicated because consuming 3rd party APIs may incur a financial implication at the point of use, which could mean revisiting the business model to make it sustainable
@aarontay Yep, this is something we're aware of, and have an epic (in the agile sense) to move from our context-free LLM to something more robust, probably using a 3rd party API
@aarontay We compared 5 different algorithms for term extraction, SGRank came out best. We also compared various approaches to query expansion. In general LLMs performed best but it does depend on the data / use case. Further details here: https://t.co/jo82Hq7ggq

I was very honoured to be awarded 'Best Paper' at yesterday's British Computer Society Search Solutions conference - here's my slides on Pragmatic AI-powered Search - Keeping it Simple, not Stupid https://t.co/A0uVs6Ok5w
Of the nine speakers at Search Solutions 2023 on 22 Nov in London eight have practical experience making search work for enterprise, e-commerce and systematic review applications, as do most of the attendees. https://t.co/FLL6zL24i6
Some thoughts (biased as I'm a co-chair) on the benefits of attending the Search Solutions 2023 Conference on 22 November in London. Unless of course you have all the answers! If so, come and share them. https://t.co/96spGiWdjj
