Speeding through a school zone. Passing a stopped school bus.
Two dangerous choices.
One goal: keeping kids safe.
Slow down. Stop for the bus.

‼️ Final Bradley Blvd Update: All lanes EB and WB are OPEN at Arlington Rd.
💙 Thank you to drivers, nearby residents and impacted customers for your patience as our crews repaired the 20-inch diameter water main and safely restored the roadway.
Bradley Blvd Update: Repairs to the 20-inch diameter water main are complete, and water service has been restored.
Crews are now shifting their focus to road repairs. Work will begin on the eastbound side of Bradley Blvd which is expected to reopen later today. Once that side is complete, crews will move to the westbound side.
Thank you for your patience.
Bradley Blvd Update: Water has been shut off so crews can safely begin the repair process. Five customers are without water. Before digging can begin, Miss Utility must mark underground utilities in the area. Once that’s complete, crews can safely excavate, assess the damage to the 20-inch diameter pipe and determine how long repairs will take. We appreciate your patience while we work to repair this critical infrastructure.
This Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month we honor the cultures and voices that help make our community stronger every day.

Annabelle will be missed in 2D. Throughout her career, she has advocated tirelessly for those impacted by crime. Thank you Annabelle, enjoy retirement!
After 20 years of dedicated service, Annabelle Gerendasy is retiring on May 30, 2026, from the Montgomery County Police Department, where she has made a lasting impact as a Victim Advocate.
Annabelle was born in Tucson, Arizona and raised in Mexico. From an early age, she was drawn to helping others and giving a voice to those in need. In 1984, she moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she learned English at a community college and went on to attend the University of Arizona. After graduating, she began her career as a case manager, supporting pregnant teenagers and helping guide them through challenging times.
From 1997 to 2004, Annabelle worked for San Diego County Child Protective Services in Court Intervention Services, where she investigated whether there were grounds for the removal of a child.
On May 30, 2006, she began her career with the Montgomery County Police Department in the Major Crimes Division as a Victim Advocate, while also being assigned to the 2nd District Station in Bethesda. In 2010, she expanded her service to include the 1st District Station in Rockville.
Throughout her career, Annabelle worked closely with detectives and officers to support victims during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. She guided individuals and families through the aftermath of trauma by connecting them with a range of resources, including funeral homes, financial assistance, therapy, and counseling, as well as accompanying victims to court when needed. As a bilingual advocate, she also played a vital role in supporting members of the Hispanic community, ensuring they received the care and understanding they needed.
Annabelle has always expressed deep appreciation for her coworkers, whose guidance and support helped shape her journey. In turn, she earned consistent praise from victims for her compassion and for the professionalism demonstrated by the officers she worked alongside. Her empathy and dedication have touched countless lives and helped build trust within the community.
We thank Annabelle for her years of service and commitment, and we wish her all the best in her well-deserved retirement.
