Many thanks to @Target and the Montgomery County Police Foundation for this morning's wonderful event. Many @mcpnews officers got to spend time helping families have a better Christmas 🎄
We each paired up with wonderful families from our community and each child had $100 donation to shop & pick out gifts for themselves.
I shopped with this family and we had a blast. I also learned a lot about the different paw patrol characters!

We had a great morning in Wheaton today at the Hero’s and Helpers event at Target. MCPD officers from 4D, @2dCommander@MCPD3DCommander and @mcpdced came out strong to spread some holiday joy to children in our community. I had the pleasure to meet and spend time with a bright , engaging, and kind young man who taught me a few things about how to shop! So many smiles and laughs had with all of our MCPD officers today. What the kids may not know is that getting to see them smile and have a good time with us was just as big a gift to our MCPD team as anything we might be able to do in return. Big thank you to our partners at MCPS, Target, and the Montgomery County Police Foundation for making events like this possible. @mcpnews
Today, we remember Officer Noah A. Leotta, End of Watch: Dec. 10, 2015.
Struck by a drunk driver during a traffic stop, he dedicated his career to keeping roads safe.
This year, Maryland honored his legacy with Noah’s Law, increasing penalties for DUIs.

This morning, alert detectives from the MCPD Major Crimes Division were passing thru the 4th District when they identified a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was followed to the area of Goodhill Road and Harrell Street. At that time 3 occupants got out and attempted to evade police, so if you saw officers running in the neighborhood, that's why. 4th District officers converged onsite and thru a joint effort, everyone was quickly arrested. Vehicle is on its way back to the owner. @mcpnews
If you are engaged by an individual or team of individuals who ask if you would like dent repair in a parking lot-just say no. Get in your car or walk to your desired location. These individuals are often unlicensed and may damage your vehicle. 301-279-8000 to report.
The MCPD Special Operations Division will be conducting Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) training in the Gaithersburg area today between the hours of 5 and 10 p.m. Residents and community members may observe a drone, however there is no reason for alarm.

Catalytic converter theft is a national trend. Etching your catalytic converter may prevent theft and help law enforcement identify stolen catalytic converters. Please consider having your vehicle’s catalytic converter etched on Sunday, Nov 3. RSVP w/Ofc Johnson. @mcpnews
