You can tell he cared for crowley so much even in the smallest details so hearing him say crowley didnโt get what he wanted in the end is so ๐๐

Q: Did Crowley get everything he wanted in the end?
DT: "No. No. He was evaporated. And then someone who looked a bit like him met someone who looked a bit like Aziraphale, but it's not the same thing."
Q: So they really don't have their memories anymore at the end?
DT: "I don't think they do. I think it's a little moment of celestial serendipity."
Q: In the first two seasons, Crowley often wanted to run away somewhere else with Aziraphale. But in the end, he chose humanity's free will instead of his own happiness. What caused that change?
DT: "I think by the end, he's the most selfless person of all. That's the problem, really. He's actually a very bad demon. He has far too much empathy and far too much humanity in him."
Q: So when he talked about running away to Alpha Centauri in the first two seasons, do you think he was just putting on an act?
DT: "I think he genuinely felt that way at the time. He rejected Heaven, and he rejected Hell. So he started searching for a third path โ a path that explores the complexity of what it really means to be human. And he wants to protect that, so that everyone can keep it. At least, that's how I understand it."
2 things can be true at once
David can acknowledge the unfairness to Aziracrow's ending that they didn't get what they wanted & that Asa & Anthony are different ppl
& ALSO
He can be proud of what they accomplished, despite that, by giving us SOMETHING even if it wasnt perfect

When I first started good omens I was going into it blind knowing nothing about it so when it introduced Crowley as a character using bohemian rhapsody I was immediately hooked
