Does video quality and editing really affect social media views?

We looked at 102,394 reels on Instagram to figure out the answer.

And we also surveyed 1681 people to find out the answer.

Let’s first start off with the survey results.

As you can see, people claim that the visual design of a video affects if they watch it.

So, then we asked if people would watch a video with good content but poor visual design.

Now let’s look at the data.

With the 102,394 reels, we looked to see if people consumed more reels that added visual design elements.

Or if they consumed content that didn’t have visual design elements.

From the reels we analyzed the ones that performed the best didn’t include visual design elements like what was shown before.

So, what were the factors in short from videos that performed the best?

We looked at over 20 factors, but here were the ones that came up more frequently when we looked at the top-performing videos (the top 10%).

Now you know the elements to include in your videos to get the most views.
