"It is more important to protect innocence than it is that guilt be punished, for guilt and crimes are so frequent that they can't all be punished ... if innocence itself is brought to the bar and condemned ... whether I do good or I do evil is immaterial"- John Adams
Nick Saban went to Washington to testify that spending in college football is out of control and will eventually destroy the sport.
Saban had a “market rate review” or “pay adjustment” provision in his contracts that ensured he remained the highest paid coach in college football. The NCAA is a cartel seeking an anti trust exemption to limit what athletes can earn. Saban as their star witness is pretty damn rich.
🚨Senate Minority Leader Harold Jones II released the following statement today on Governor’s Kemp’s call for special session:
"If Republicans ever used their power to help Georgians, they wouldn't have to waste time and money redrawing the maps every few years to keep their majorities.
"June will be our third redistricting since 2021. Republicans need to undo their last gerrymander because it wasn't good enough to keep their waffling political party in power. Most parties would try out some new ideas. Republicans choose to strip political power from Black people and undo the progress the South made in the last 60 years.
"Let's sum it up for everybody. The biggest bloc of middle and working class voters are Black people. When Republicans strip Black people's political power away, it doesn't just strip one community of power. It strips political power from every single middle and working class person and hands it over to billionaires and big corporations. That's what redistricting means for you."
Protestors are entirely peaceful, but the rotunda is literally filled with troopers as Tennessee Republicans pass their racist 9-0 maps stripping majority Black Memphis of representation. @GovBillLee@MarshaBlackburn
Suspending a primary election days before early voting starts just so you can redraw the maps to disenfranchise Black and brown voters is a perfect example of the lengths Republican politicians will go to rig our democracy in their favor.
Louisiana’s GOP governor just declared a STATE OF EMERGENCY to CANCEL an election.
Not for a storm — but to redraw maps so he can ERASE a historically Black district.
They’re not even hiding it. MAGA is rigging elections to silence YOU.
Trump’s FCC chair, Brendan Carr, says he plans to punish and potentially revoke broadcast licenses for TV networks critical of the Trump administration:
“I’d be surprised if we don’t go down the path of license revocation for some. It will be up to them and their conduct.”
This is fascism. This is what they do in authoritarian countries.
This is cancel culture on steroids.
Where’s the outrage?
2 Democratic States have redrawn, both with a mandate from the people.
5 Republicans States (soon to be 6) have redrawn without a single person getting a vote.
Both sides are not the same.
The Trump family has made $4 billion off the presidency.
Crypto: $3.02B
Persian Gulf deals: $425.8M
Qatari jet: $150M
Legal fees/merch: $127.7M
Mar-a-Lago: $125M
Corporate deals: $91M
Hanoi hotel: $40M
Truth Social: $25M
Don Jr: $19.6M
Unprecedented kleptocracy.
This should be on the front page of every newspaper in America.
A Syrian billionaire needed U.S. sanctions lifted so he could cash in on $12 billion in reconstruction contracts.
In an attempt to influence American foreign policy, he proposed a Trump-branded golf course, cut Jared Kushner & Ivanka Trump into a multibillion-dollar real estate deal for a resort in Albania, and had someone physically deliver a stone engraved with the Trump family crest to a Republican Member of Congress with instructions to take it to the White House to get the President's attention.
Trump threw his weight behind repealing the sanctions. They were lifted. The contracts are moving, the Trump family’s deals are expanding, and not a single Washington Republican is willing to say a word about any of it.
This is a corruption of everything the office of the presidency is supposed to stand for, and the American people deserve to know about it.

What they’re describing isn’t “free market capitalism.” It’s the exact opposite. When CEOs brag that they can call the president or someone in the White House to get things done, that’s not the market working, that’s political favoritism and crony capitalism. In a real free market, businesses succeed by competing for customers, not by lobbying politicians or getting special access to the government. The fact that CEOs think the White House being “open for business” is a positive just shows how dependent corporate America has become on government influence. That’s not capitalism. That’s a government-managed economy.
This is a stunning confirmation of the grim reality, which is that Donald Trump has seized control of the once independent Justice Department and is using it to pursue his political objectives—including trying to punish his perceived enemies. Exactly what his supporters baselessly accused the previous administration of doing.
