Israel and the U.S. went for a kill shot against Iran. The odious Regime took a pounding and lost a generation of leadership, but survived. This peace deal at best brings us status quo ante. We’re back where we started on 28 February except a lot of people have died; a lot of stuff got blown up, and Israel is more isolated than ever. Maybe it was worth the shot, but there is no way to spin that into victory.
Reminder for all young parents:
You only get:
- 1 Summer with your baby
- 3 with your toddler
- 9 with your child
- 5 with your teenager
This time is precious. Don’t rush it.
Frank Stephens pleads for the humanization of people with Down syndrome,
“I am a man. See me as a human being not a birth defect, not a syndrome. I don’t need to be eradicated.”
You cannot claim that you’re aborting your Down syndrome child because you don’t want him to “suffer.” First of all, killing a child so they don’t suffer is psychopath serial killer logic. You’re on the same moral plane as Andrea Yates. Second, children with Down syndrome are famously some of the happiest people you’ll ever meet in your life. They are not in fact living in a state of perpetual torment. So what’s really happening is that you’re killing your child so that YOU won’t suffer the inconvenience of caring for him. This is about freeing yourself of your own perceived suffering. If you’re going to be a child killing sociopath, at least be honest about it.
Peter Cushing Trivia
He was an avid collector, painter, and wargamer who owned over 5,000 hand-painted figures.
Cushing particularly enjoyed historical wargaming, specifically focusing on the Napoleonic era.
In 96 AD, Clement of Rome, bishop of a church over 600 miles away, commanded the Corinthians to cease their sedition.
Not requested. Not suggested. Commanded.
The Corinthian church had a dispute. Younger members had removed the established elders. Clement wrote from Rome to correct this, with the full weight of apostolic authority behind every line.
Here is what makes this historically remarkable.
The New Testament canon as we recognize it would not be formally settled for another three centuries. There was no printed Bible. No agreed-upon list of authoritative texts. And yet a bishop in Rome felt entirely entitled to exercise doctrinal correction over a congregation in Greece.
The Corinthians did not tell him to mind his own business.
They kept the letter. Read it publicly in their liturgy for generations. Clement's epistle was treated in some early communities with a reverence approaching Scripture itself.
This is not a medieval invention. This is 96 AD, within living memory of the Apostles. Clement almost certainly knew Peter and Paul personally. The structure being exercised here, one church exercising authority over another, was not controversial. It was assumed.
Sola Scriptura tells us the Bible alone governs Christian life. But the Christians who received and preserved the New Testament already operated inside a structure of authoritative teaching that preceded the canon.
The question Protestants rarely answer directly: if the early Church didn't need a finalized canon to exercise doctrinal authority, what exactly does that tell us about where authority actually resided?
Please tell me you can’t be this willfully obtuse.Nobody said Iran never attacked U.S. interests. The point is pretending the hostility materialized out of thin air is ahistorical nonsense.
Cause and effect is not the same thing as justification. If you overthrow a country’s elected government in 1953, reinstall an authoritarian ally, help shape decades of resentment, back Iraq during a brutal war against them where they suffered under chemical weapon attacks, then act shocked when anti-American hostility becomes institutionalized, that’s not serious historical analysis.
That doesn’t mean every action Iran took afterward was justified. But miss all of us, with this revisionist “they started it” simplification. History isn’t a damn Marvel movie.
The U.S.–Iran conflict didn’t begin in Beirut. It didn’t begin in 1979. It didn’t begin whenever your preferred flawed ass political narrative starts.
You can acknowledge Iran’s use of proxies and attacks on U.S. interests while also acknowledging that the relationship was profoundly shaped by U.S. intervention beginning in 1953.
Those positions are not contradictory.
Facts are told in totality, not selective damn memory.
They’re are three appropriate reactions to Tulsi Gabbard’s resignation:
Thank her for her service.
Offer prayers for her husband and family.
Say nothing.
Anything else just makes you a vile, repulsive, subhuman twatwaffle with doucheberry sauce.
I am deeply grateful for the trust President Trump placed in me and for the opportunity to lead @ODNIgov for the last year and a half.
Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026. My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer. He faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months. At this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle.
Everyone should respect this decision by Thomas Massie.
He has given enough. His family has given enough.
We both have.
It’s up to the American people, it’s your country, and you can’t expect only a few of us to sacrifice ourselves.
Step up.
@BenHart_Freedom@WeDidItOnce A healthy republic has robust debate, to strike sinister shit from bad bills like amnesty for data centers that poison the water, and amnesty for big chem when they poison the food, as Thomas Massie did.
Wanting to oust every libertarian who doesn’t “get in line” is mob rule.
If Kamala Harris had won in 2024, Thomas Massie would have won by 80% tonight, but Trump and his massive ego have convinced thousands of boomers who watch too much Fox News to believe Massie is a bad person
Trump is a very dark and evil human being
I hope he's impeached in 2027
Horrible Congressman Thomas Massie put out an old Endorsement, from many years ago, of him by me long before I found out that he was the Worst Congressman in the History of our Country. I endorsed Ed Gallrein, a true American Patriot, which Massie knows full well, so the statement that he put out is fraudulent, just like HE is fraudulent. WITHDRAW YOUR FAKE STATEMENT, MASSIE, RIGHT NOW! President DONALD J. TRUMP
