Leaving Ghana today....heading to the airport soon. We did 27 surgeries at La General Hospital. All patients were extremely appreciative.

Father James Arthur was in Ghana and drove 2 hours to come meet me! Amazingly small world! Such wonderful people!!

He asked where I was from in the Midwest...I said Wisconsin. Where in Wisconsin - Milwaukee. Is that near Wausau?

It truly is a small world - yesterday I met the a new nurse anesthesiologist - said his names is Bright. Nice young man.

Being here in Ghana when that picture came out, I totally get it now. The hospital does not have running water. Think about that!!

In Ghana there is a huge shortage of water. To "scrub in for surgeries" it is not even close to what we do in the US

This is the "Door of no return" - after they went through the door they were loaded into boats.

The other visit was to the "Castle" in Cape Coast. This is where slaves were confined until shipped oversees.

Sunday after Church we went to Kakum National Rainforrest. This is part of the Canopy Walk. There are 8 bridges.

At the orphanage the group gave education on brushing and flossing teeth, gave kids books and other gifts and played soccer with them.

Spent the afternoon at one of 3 local orphanages. The doctors saw 25 kids for check ups.

Sunday mass at the Catholic Cathedral in Cape Coast. Amazing singing and dancing during mass. Yes....Catholic!

We traveled to Cape coast over the weekend to spend time with the IHCV group in that city. The next set of pictures are from there.

@MneuMichael I totally agree! A few cases they were on top of my head. Last case I had the anesthesiologist bring them down.

I was able to help assist today - scrubbed into a case and held retractors. You all know I am living a dream!
