Hi #taysci2

[Adam Taylor @2footgiraffe]

Scientists - thank you so much for helping tonight! Do not feel obligated to keep the twibbon. But you can if you want. #scistuchat

[K. Rettig 2 @2krettig]

Thank you for joining us! #scistuchat

[Adam Taylor @2footgiraffe]

Yes!! that is why there are so many strong feelings against it. #scistuchat https://t.co/hw2TbmJhLW

[Dr. Amanda L. (Glaze) Townley @EvoPhD]

@2krettig Not at all! You can be religious and still accept and understand evolution :)

[K. Rettig 2 @2krettig]

L2: There are so many misconceptions about evolution. So, So many. #scistuchat

[K. Rettig 2 @2krettig]

L1: Evolution isn't directly related to religion. #scistuchat

[Students & Scientist @SciStuChat]

Q-LAST what are 2 things you learned tonight? #scistuchat

[K. Rettig 2 @2krettig]

A6: They didn't have the means to survive, and the evolution process didn't provide it for them, so they eventually died off. #scistuchat

[achampion @a_champion1]

Q6) Why do some species survive while others go extinct? #scistuchat

[K. Rettig 2 @2krettig]

A5: No- evolution can be small or drastic, an improvement or even a hinderance. Definitely not consistent. #scistuchat

[K. Rettig 2 @2krettig]

A4: We didn't evolve directly from apes- we share common ancestors. #scistuchat

[dontactlikeicare @anapper2]

Q4: How is the famous picture “the march of progress” flawed when it comes to the theory of evolution? #scistuchat

[K. Rettig 2 @2krettig]

A3: Can help in dangerous situations such as smelling a poisonous gas. #scistuchat http://t.co/sEbqSpKOYx

[dontactlikeicare @anapper2]

Q3: Why is our sense of smell so important in evolutionary theory? Give a link to a source #scistuchat

[Kellie Jaremko @Neuro_Kellie]

@kejames Good point. I think the most important thing is to realize religion and evolution ARE NOT mutually exclusive #scistuchat

[dontactlikeicare @anapper2]

Q3: Why is our sense of smell so important in evolutionary theory? Give link #scistuchat

[K. Rettig 2 @2krettig]

A2: That evolution is a theory on the origin of life. To the contrary, it's about how organisms have evolved over time. #scistuchat

[dontactlikeicare @anapper2]

Q2: What are some misconceptions about evolutionary theory? #scistuchat
