People who are saying Kamala got the questions to the debate in advance: Of course she did. So did Trump. It’s called using polling to #debate prep. We all know the issues that Americans care about from polling. You practice answering those specific questions. Not complicated.

@GarteeMichael@jjwagner19@bennyjohnson So why didn’t Trump do anything about it when he was in office? He has his hand picked AG, head of FBI, etc… If there was a crime committed, he could have easily went after her for it. Unless… there was no substance to the claims? 👀

@AaronWilhelm An 18 year old enlisted in the military has to go through a psych evaluation and extensive training on that weapon. Even after that, there’s rules in place for safe gun storage on bases. https://t.co/Jr7X3DBxZc
@XocliwNitsua @agammamon @nickspencer74@AndrewCFollett I don’t think the answer is loosening guns laws the way Abbott and others have been doing. Making guns easier to obtain can’t solve this problem.
@XocliwNitsua @agammamon @nickspencer74@AndrewCFollett I’m not going to pretend I have the answers on that. In the case of this particular shooter the volume of ammo and weapons he purchased shouldn’t have been so easy or quick to obtain (IMO).
Laws aside, that’s like over-serving at a bar.
@AndrewCFollett@benshapiro Doesn’t that make sense though? Instead of trying to track every person who buys crack, wouldn’t you target the crack house? Eliminate the supplier?
@P51SN95 @agammamon @nickspencer74@AndrewCFollett So how many school shootings are we supposed to be comfortable with? I understand that data reporting might be off, but that doesn’t make this or any other school shooting less horrific. Does it?
@agammamon @nickspencer74@AndrewCFollett Obviously not, but we were talking about school shootings in this tangent, so in that sense yes.
Outside of that the argument that mass shootings happen in other countries shouldn’t mean that we should just shrug our shoulders and accept that this is a reality we can’t change.
@AndrewCFollett@benshapiro I don’t think people want to harass gun retailers or manufacturers for fun.
I think they want to send their kids to school and not worry about if they are going to come home or not.

Having strict gun laws in a city that borders a state that have very relaxed gun laws is like living in a dry county and expecting no one could possibly ever drink alcohol there.
@AndrewCFollett@benshapiro I can agree that action for the sake of action is pointless. However when there is a problem that needs addressing, action is mertied if not demanded.
Straw gun laws you mentioned would be a piece of a plan, but isn’t the only level to pull.
@AndrewCFollett@benshapiro You’re also positing that stricter gun laws don’t work because there is still gun violence in large cities who have stricter gun laws. But you’re also saying that the US doesn’t have a gun violence problem compared to other countries. So the answer is do nothing? That can’t be.
