"How many young people want to work in the police? Whose children should go there?"
Former Minister of Works Babatunde Fashola raises concerns about manpower and funding challenges associated with the proposal for state police.

All I'm saying is that the current situation is caused by external factors. What we had before was a result of devaluation, removal of fuel subsidies, and exchange rate arbitrage. From last year, inflation started slowing down until the war in Iran. We have countless reasons to blame the government for, but not for something they have no control over. We have invested too little in the past to mitigate the effects.
@userYil1@zoooodee@UkejeChimezie1@AbujaPresident I swear, I’m just explaining to angry programmed people who are programmed to be angry, not to understand but to hate. Sometimes, we need to educate them.
To be honest, I wanted to just ignore it but let me help you. Firstly, the global shortage will affect us because we’re part of the global community and economy; we’re not in space. Crude oil is a global commodity, not garri or fufu. Our government doesn’t fix the price; they can only subsidise it or do a swap deal.
The USA is the largest producer and refiner and is also experiencing increases in prices. Nobody is insulated apart from very few countries that have invested in renewable energies and some with energy subsidies.
Over the years, especially during the PMB presidency, we didn’t only borrow to pay subsidies but also borrowed in advance with our unencumbered crude to get refined products. We’re not maximising the windfall, plus we have relatively low production capacity.
I believe you’re a young person. Go and read more, do less of this propaganda. Stop being angry at every opinion different from yours.
@AbujaPresident Suppose you’re the president, are you going to dictate the prices of commodities that are set globally by demand and supply forces? Are you planning to reintroduce subsidies that almost ruined our economy?

Assume Nigeria is the worst, as we normally do. But what about other countries feeling the effects of increased energy prices due to the war in the Middle East that has impacted supply chains? There are impacts beyond your control no matter how hard you prepare. In our personal lives, we encounter such situations too. The increase in energy prices has nothing to do with our president or country. We’ve just been affected by a global crisis, and no country is insulated. We can only mitigate the effects by reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and investing more in renewable energy.
Many people who know these candidates and their families on a personal level will just be laughing at the level of ignorance here. Most comments and opinions on X are far from reality. Sen. Alli’s immediate and extended family are well educated and successful in their respective careers both at home and abroad.

@ChiemelaChimao1@FolushoxFolarin@LeonardoOkojie That is the responsibility of your local and state governments, not the federal government. Currently, federal hospitals are handling mostly primary healthcare issues because of the failure of state and local governments. They are meant to handle complicated medical issues.
