Gender identity is a concept created by straight white men to tightly police and enforce strict heteronormative boundaries on the “acceptable”/“normal” preferences and behaviors of girls/women and boys/men. Trans is literally _the most_ heteronormative concept in existence. _Only_ boys/men engage in stereotypically masculine behaviors. A girl who possesses stereotypically masculine preferences or behaviors has a “boy gender” and a “boy gender identity.” Only girls/women engage in stereotypically feminine behaviors. A boy who possesses stereotypically feminine preferences or behaviors has a “girl brain” or a “girl gender.” This is the most reactionary, regressive anti-feminist and homophobic concept imaginable. Celebrated by liberals and the left. ABOLISH GENDER.

The refusal to admit fault is the worst part. Before this all happened, a handful of women, famously some feminists, said, "look, we have sex-segregated spaces for a reason. If you let men self-ID into the women's category, many of the men will be sexually violent predators who attack and rape the women."

Then everyone screamed, howled, called these women bigots. And what happened? Men were let into women's prisons, and immediately, rapists and murderers slapped on bad wigs across the country to be let into the women's space. The women are still being forced to shower with them. There have been rapes. There have been attacks.

Exactly as our foremothers predicted.

And has the mob that pushed for these laws done anything to protect the women it abandoned? No. The stories get labeled "far-right cherry picking" or things that "never happened" and swept under the rug. All while incarcerated women are locked in a cage with no escape from these monsters.

What is absurd about this - in case anyone hasn't been there - is that there are 3 ponds. Womens, Mens and Mixed. Anyone who identifies as a different gender can use the mixed pond. So it is not as if anyone is currently excluded.

The reality of this decision is that yet again, it is women who are expected to give up their rights to get changed and swim in peace. So this policy is the opposite of "inclusive". Unless you are a man, in which case, as ever, you get to do what you like.

A hundred years of this very special and much valued women only swimming tradition being chucked out in the guise of "inclusivity".
