@DodiMelkabo@tightshit@fellowdelegates The Columbine shooters experienced no more bullying than typical high schoolers. They had friends. They had loving families.
@SquireGrooktook@unstill_life Youโre disagreeing with the dictionary definition of the in its adjective form. Which means all things produced as an artistic effort.
@ginaxcx I will say, the car flip in 2026 Carrie is particularly well done. The way it flings off the road is very good. The stupid fucking monologue from Emaline kills the entire scene however.
@Liamtrty0@fatzoekravitz I donโt buy this narrative because De Palmaโs adaptation is the best thereโs ever been and here Carrie is saying to her fanatical mother that โeverything isnโt a sin.โ
@hardboiledleggs@zumstamm@AudGee122 Howโฆ is a girl who grew up with fanatical religious parents going to be socially adjusted? I donโt think youโve ever seen a single piece of Carrie media because sheโs awkward but sheโs absolutely not uptight at all.
@Mr_Video_Game_ Carrie is not about what she has the โrightโ to do. Nobody had the right to bully her as relentlessly as they did. Her mother didnโt have the right to psychologically and physically abuse Carrie. Carrie is about someone being pushed to the point of no return.
@corybuckley@Manny4p Carrie isnโt a mass shooter. Her alienation is innate, inescapable, and entirely not her fault. We know the psychology of mass shooters as antisocial narcissists who donโt have anything going for them and feel like the world has to know them. Thatโs not Carrie at all.
@boabulon@BussyKeaton But thatโs not the same as premeditating a massacre. In the original she snaps, she doesnโt go to prom intending on killing anyone.
@BreaTrant@BussyKeaton Not really. Carrie is about an earnest girl being the victim of teenage cruelty, while her home life offers no respite because of her fanatical mother until she finally explodes one night. The Columbine shooters had friends at school. They had loving parents.
