Was just walking along the street this evening and as I approached this pub, I stopped in my tracks to photograph this gentleman as he leant nonchalantly against the wall, texting on his phone. Talk about handing me the shot on a plate. Thank you whoever you are.
When John Williams saw this scene from Schindler’s List (1993), he was so moved he stepped out to process it.
He told Spielberg he needed a better composer. Spielberg replied, “I know, but they’re all dead.”
One of my brothers just sent me this photo of me in a street (which may have been outside a pub). Taken on film, by the time he gets it developed, you’ve forgotten you were ever there. I’m at home now and listening to a band called The Smiths singing the Queen is Dead, live, way back in 1986, which coincidentally, was when I was at college studying photography. Anyway, the image and the music seemed to work perfectly together, as can so often happen.
“Writing is a combination of two skills: the ability to use words and create with words. A writer is a craftsman and a designer. My father felt the urge to create. Another man might have made things with his hands; he made things with his imagination.”~C.R.Milne
Female Northern Cardinals are among my favorite subjects--but I just haven't been getting good looks at them. This morning, I spotted this beauty in Central Park's Conservatory Garden. Isn't she gorgeous? ❤️🤎❤️ #Cardinals#CentralPark#birdcpp
Two years ago today was the last time I photographed Flaco in Central Park. He would leave the park a day later and spend the next few months hunting pigeons on the Upper West Side. His incredible story is one I'll never forget. #Flaco#CentralPark#birdcpp
Scott Suttell has spent more than 30 years at Crain’s Cleveland, shaping coverage of Northeast Ohio’s economy, leading digital-first initiatives, & organizing live events with regional business leaders. Always great to see him and capture a photo in the historic Cleveland Arcade.
When people have a good relationship with their leaders, they’re more likely to go the extra mile. When people don’t get along with their leaders, they tend to retaliate against them and the organization. But what about when people feel ambivalent about their leaders? https://t.co/EfDiKD82TE
Continuing my journey home and this is St Pancras area of London at 1035pm on a Saturday night. What you may notice is there are no people, even up the side roads. Just tumbleweed.
A rising number of mysterious drone sightings near airports and military bases has fueled concern in Europe over alleged Russian incursions into NATO airspace, with some of America's allies already saying the continent is in a gray zone between peace and war — accusing Moscow of escalating "hybrid warfare."
In Sweden, CBS News' @HollyMAWilliams saw that alliance in action this week — in waters contested by Russia — and watched as an enemy submarine prepared for a covert espionage and sabotage mission in the Baltic Sea against America's NATO allies in northern Europe. It was just a military exercise, launched from Stockholm's harbor, and a German submarine played the role of the unnamed enemy being hunted by NATO forces across the Baltic Sea.
@bedford_colleen Same here, Colleen! Thank you for reposting that great post from William Shatner. We feel it was spot-on! (There are two of us on the account — one in NYC and one in Delaware.)
Whether you call today Armistice Day, Remembrance Day, Veterans Day, Veterans of Foreign Wars Day or even Independence Day, THANK YOU for your service. - The Shatners
