imo, the most bullish thing about meta is that LLMs are only most used for classification of content (last 2 quarters) and not recommendations (still to be implemented).
Their own advanced recsys are so equipped (Andromeda, sequence learning etc), they have delivered the extra growth with some extra ad loads doing the work.
Mgmt was forced to mention that these extra returns are due to AI because that is what market wants to hear. The actual LLM based work will go live now.
To be able to give up on the immediate opportunity to lease compute and go all in on consumer opportunity is the biggest risk they are taking.
They are so smart, they got these crazy growth rates just on their own recsys.
we are half the size of our main competition, still they grow 2x faster than us while making PAT level profit. also we started quick commerce before them.

"In a period where quick commerce competition has only intensified, we prioritized improving unit economics over fleeting headline growth.
... This milestone marks a pivotal transition, as growth increasingly serves as a driver for profitability rather than a compromise against it." Sriharsha Majety said.
(1) Today we're releasing Muse Spark 1.1 -- a strong agentic and coding model at a very low price. It's available through our new Meta Model API and in Meta AI.
@_prashantnair Meta did not say it. Mark said we are confident on ROI for our investments because if it ever happens that we have built excess capacity we can rent it out at premium. They have literally bought a lot of capacity in last 3 months.
my strong hunch is this was initiated by @joulee (Julie Zhuo), ex-facebook cxo and has a direct relationship with Chris Cox (who made the hire) and zuck.
@kunalb11 hosted Julie in Cred's podcast in 2022. Julie's husband Chandra also ex-facebook cxo and ex-sequoia global (during cred investment).

I am just wondering how Mark- Kunal deal may have been brokered
No common investor, FB had not invested in Kunal / Cred earlier, Wall Street has no BG abt Kunal ( so immediate pop in Stock)+ Kunal though super smart has not done stuff outside India ( even if META cracks India, prize is $20-$30B- India MC)
How do you think this deal would have happened?
@TheClubJunto They have not given any 3 year ebitda margin guidance for Blinkit. However to an analyst comment they agreed the projected guidance implied in ebitda calculation is 3% for Blinkit. And the long term guidance is 5-6% which they have already achieved in mature markets.
Today we're announcing LevelUp: a free, four-week training program that takes people with no prior experience and prepares them to work as fiber technicians on data center construction sites across the US.
We built this program with CBRE because the fiber technician field, and the broader construction industry, is facing a nationwide shortage at a time when data center demand is higher than ever.
How it works:
π§ Classroom instruction, hands-on labs + team activities covering transferable technical skills
π Graduates have the opportunity to work at Meta's US construction sites through our contractor network
π€ Open to everyone from recent high school grads to mid-career professionals
Since 2010, Meta's data center projects have supported 30,000+ skilled trade jobs during construction + 5,000+ permanent operational roles. LevelUp is about building the pipeline to keep that going.

@squawksquare because it can turn into a class action suit where everyone starts using this judgement to file cases against Meta. that's why markets reacted
