Clarification: There has never been a federal or state law requiring rental car agencies to verify the validity of a driver’s license — even though the systems exist.

Due to a new and developing situation involving public safety, and after consultation with multiple teams, I formally requested federal-level assistance.

The details have been submitted through proper channels.

New Development
As a Gold Star Mother from Texas, I have had to formally reach out to President Trump regarding the 2Step Act and a new public safety development involving me and my work.

President Trump previously supported this effort, and due to recent circumstances involving multiple teams, I was advised to seek federal-level attention. This cannot be resolved at the state level. I’m reaching out to current leaders in office .

One life lost matters. My son mattered.
