We need to change the culture! We have the privilege given to us by GOD to pro-Create! We need to change our hearts, our minds, our way of living. "If a mother can kill her unborn child, what else is humanity capable of?" Now is the time of reflection, healing and
Today is the 800th Anniversary of the Blessed Transitus of St. Francis of Assisi- when the saint passed into Eternal glory. I’ve always loved this prayer of St Francis:
Most High and glorious God, enlighten the darkness of our hearts and give us a true faith, a certain hope and a perfect love. Give us a sense of the divine and knowledge of yourself, so that we may do everything in fulfillment of your holy will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏
In 1979, just weeks before he died, Archbishop Fulton Sheen gave his final interview to Marie Torre of WABC. The 5 most important things he said in the interview were....
1. Modern erotic culture is a failure of purpose, not merely a failure of rules.
2. Children require moral formation, not permissive abandonment disguised as freedom.
3. The human heart wants life, truth, and love in an absolute form; this desire points to God.
4. The Church cannot become credible by copying the world.
5. The family depends on sacrificial love, not mutual self-satisfaction.
When he gave this interview, no one knew it would be his last. Let us never forget his wisdom.
We’re in St. Louis for the historic beatification of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. Yesterday, at our hotel, we got into an elevator with a family with so many kids.
The dad called one of them Fulton.
Since then, we’ve started noticing so many people named Fulton here. It’s pretty amazing to see how many families chose that name because of Fulton Sheen.
Have you ever thought about praying the Rosary specifically for the purification of your memory?
In Catholic thought, the memory is one of the faculties of the soul, alongside the intellect and the will. To purify the memory is to surrender painful recollections, regrets, intrusive thoughts, and unhealthy attachments to Christ, asking Him to free us from their power.
At the beginning of your Rosary, you can simply pray:
“Lord, I offer this Rosary for the purification of my memory.
Take every painful recollection, every regret, and every unholy image, and wash them in Your grace.”
You can also bring this intention into each mystery:
• Agony in the Garden: memories of anxiety and fear
• Scourging at the Pillar: memories of suffering and shame
• Crowning with Thorns: impure or troubling thoughts
• Resurrection: renewal, hope, and new life
Or add a simple clause to the Hail Mary:“…and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus, who purifies my memory.”
Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.
“Oh, how the devils in hell tremble at Mary and her great name!” (St. Bonaventure)
On today’s memorial of the Most Holy Name of Mary, we are reminded of the power of calling upon Our Lady in times of temptation and spiritual battle. May we invoke her name with confidence, trusting in the intercession of the Mother of God who always leads us to her Son.
Most Holy Mary, pray for us!
Today we celebrate the Memorial of the Most Holy Name of Mary, honoring the sacred name of Our Blessed Mother, a source of protection, victory, and maternal comfort for all Christians.
Quick facts every Catholic should know about the Most Holy Name of Mary:
Father Mychal Judge, a Catholic priest and FDNY chaplain, entered the North Tower alongside firefighters and remained at the command post in the lobby, administering last rites and comforting firefighters and victims.
When the South Tower collapsed, the resulting blast of debris fatally struck him, making Father Judge the first officially recorded casualty of the September 11 attacks.
