Florida International University is forcing students to record university-approved “reflection” videos as part of their punishment for a silent anti-ICE protest — a totalitarian twist to an already unjustifiable disciplinary process.
FIU disciplined seven students for a March 13 demonstration during a campus “fireside chat,” in which students quietly revealed “ICE OFF FIU” shirts and then left. By the university’s own account, the protest neither disrupted the event nor drew complaints.
Yet students have received conduct charges, written reprimands, and are now being required to submit recorded “reflection” videos explaining their alleged policy violations and how they will comply with the university’s expressive activity rules — the same rules we’ve urged the university to revise. Nor will a simple apology suffice: the videos must be “original” and “thoughtful,” and officials may reject them and require students to re-record if they are not satisfied. Students say the university has also indicated that noncompliance could affect their ability to receive their diplomas.
We have already warned FIU that it is unlawfully applying an overbroad policy to non-disruptive, protected expression. FIU’s response was to add compelled speech to the punishment.
A public university cannot punish students for a silent protest that, by its own account, disrupted no one, and then force them to record university-approved statements to stay in good standing. FIU must drop the charges, rescind the compelled “reflection” video requirement, and stop trying to turn protected expression into state-scripted obedience.
BREAKING: Denver Communists held a protest outside the Christian-owned coffee shop “The Drip Cafe” claiming the cafe is transphobic
They now declared that they will hold a protest there every month until it shuts down
If you’re in the area, consider supporting this coffee shop!
If I said the same about Jesus, would I be arrested? No. This is exactly what creates biased policing. When police are trained to favor one tribe over another, you get tragedies like Henry Nowak.
Mamdani says he saved NYC’s budget by taxing the rich & socialism.
In reality, ~5% came from taxing the rich.
~53% mostly by taking money from people who don’t live in NYC & future taxpayers.
~35% from…Wall Street
Capitalists create success, socialists claim it as their own.
Our nation was founded by rejecting a failed system that no longer served We the People. Through their undaunted courage, our Founding Fathers birthed this nation and created a system that empowers us to replace the government when our leaders fail us.
In our lifetimes, we have watched our government drag us into pointless wars to sustain an empire that enriches and empowers only the elites, while the American way of life deteriorates here at home.
We are blessed in this: 250 years ago, our Founders didn’t merely grant us the right to change our government—they made it our duty.
We now face an onslaught of propaganda claiming that, despite another foolish war in the Middle East and rampant corruption, those in power have our best interests at heart. This is designed to deceive, provoke, and demoralize us. Don’t take the bait. View it all with clear eyes and resolve to change it.
This nation is not merely “an idea” to be reshaped by the selfish whims of those in power, nor is it a “failed experiment.” This nation is our home, our heritage, and our sacred duty to preserve for future generations. By breaking free from the failed political system that enabled this rot, we can restore our wounded Republic.
Rejoice that we live in the greatest, freest nation the world has ever known. Never give up hope. Never stop fighting for what it is our duty to protect.
God bless the United States of America.
To the Americans:
I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States.
And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness:
You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence.
This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns.
Success is equated with exploitation.
Ambition is looked upon with contempt.
This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom.
But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated.
This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet.
And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America:
Thank God for the United States.
Thank God for the wisdom of its founders.
Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man.
Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners.
Long may your admirable country dominate the world.
Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states.
May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning.
Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill.
Thank God for the USA.
Happy 250th.
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson
Freedom has never been free.
Thank you to every warrior, patriot, hunter, rancher, worker, law enforcement officer, first responder, and veteran who keeps the American Spirit alive.
Happy 250th birthday to the greatest country on Earth.
God Bless America. 🇺🇸
Charlie Kirk never got to see America’s 250th birthday.
So, in his honor, watch him shut down the typical liberal “stolen land” argument.
A college student confronts Kirk and says Americans are living on “stolen land” taken from the Mexicans.
Kirk asks who the Mexicans stole it from, then expertly turns his own words against him.
By the end, everyone is cheering for America. Watch how this one plays out.
STUDENT: “I want to acknowledge the fact that we are right now on stolen land and that we are on indigenous land and that we are on original Mexican land right now.”
KIRK: “I love this stolen land argument.”
STUDENT: “…I really make it a point to notice that I’m on stolen land at all times, especially when we think about things like Manifest Destiny.”
KIRK: “Who did the Mexicans steal the land from?”
STUDENT: “Actually, the Mexicans were there originally in Texas…”
KIRK: “Wrong. They stole it from lots of Indian tribes… Texas was not indigenously Mexican… there was the Cherokee. There were many different Native American tribes there. So Mexico was participating in Manifest Destiny at the behest of the Spanish crown.”
[Student acknowledges Kirk is right]
KIRK: “At some point, you have to believe in self-determination. If you can win the land, it’s yours. That is what built the West.”
STUDENT: “I can agree with that.”
KIRK: “So instead of a land acknowledgement… you should have a gratitude acknowledgement. ‘Praise God, I live in America! I’m glad!’ A gratitude acknowledgement would be nice.”
[Crowd erupts]
Charlie would have loved to experience America’s 250th birthday more than anyone.
He defended America on campuses exactly like this one until the day he died. The least we can do is carry his message forward.
Rest in Peace, Legend.
So were mine. I know their names and where they’re buried.
However…
Their descendant is free. He has an education. He worked a job making people safe. He bought a house. He has a family. He can read and write. He can walk around wherever he wants. He takes care of himself, his family, and his neighborhood.
My ancestors would be proud of me and the country I live in. They would be proud of the progress that was made. They would be proud of the freedoms we all have today.
You’re mad just for the sake of being mad. I’m happy and free because that’s what I am.
Five minutes on @X and you see one story after another of Europeans being killed, raped or assaulted.
If it weren’t for @elonmusk we would never hear about these stories.
The truth, along with the victims of mass migration, would just be buried.
Citizenship is more than legal status—it is a solemn obligation.
As America turns 250, I make the case that a nation can endure only if its citizens embrace allegiance, assimilation, and the responsibilities that sustain liberty.
You know how advertising works. If you are selling a product that no one really wants, you must create a need that only you can fill.
If you are selling deodorant to people who don’t really smell, you must convince them they smell, so you can sell them your “solution” of deodorant.
If you are selling control and the ripping away of people’s rights, you must convince those people they are so unhappy that they will want your “solution” of dominance.
Both sales pitches are lies. The first costs you money for an unnecessary product. The second steals your rights and the enjoyment of the life you’ve got.
Don’t believe the lies.
America is a place, merged with an idea. Americans are those here who agree to this idea. The idea is that anything is possible and that you can live your life the way you want, so long as that way does not impinge on others’ ability to live the way they want.
As the current custodians of America, we will keep this idea sacred, so that it is healthy and alive for those who come after us. Just like those of the past 250 years did for us. Happy 4th of July.
Gavin Newscum managed to be a racist, a hypocrite, and sexist all in one post. Yet the Demonrats say WE are the problem? Also correct me if I’m wrong…but doesn’t Cali have one of the highest costs of living in our nation? Should HE be the one to talk about affordability?
@GavinNewsom Before you tax the most monetarily successful man EVER who has created 2 of the most successful companies in American history, can you please explain how you have spent taxpayer dollars wisely in your own state?
Stop asking for more money from ANYONE until you spend it correctly
One does not expect a mind-blowing lesson in history from a Supreme Court opinion. But that is exactly what Justice Clarence Thomas has given us in his dissenting book-length dissent in Trump vs. Barbara. This is the decision concerning birthright citizenship in which the majority decided in favor of the status quo while rejecting the historical evidence that the 14th Amendment was to apply to freed slaves, not just anyone born here.

King Gavin is a danger to our daughters. Despite SCOTUS ruling for women’s sports, Newsom doubles down: CA won’t change. Erasing girls from sports, weakened child protections, locker room harassment. CA parents wake up! @CAgovernor justice is coming, mark my words you thief.
