My film fast has finally ended, after exactly three months of watching nothing but Lynch-related projects. Fittingly with a Japanese LaserDisc production that I was able to view in Japan, during my stay there. All this felt really cleansing and I highly recommend taking... (1/5)
"Never bite the hand that feeds" said the art theft. And continued to slop his slop that he slopped from his slop machine. Never to respect the craft or his peers ever again... Still thinking he would make money off of literal dog doo doo slopped on screen. But nobody watched.
@aifilmmaker@zakfilm How is the complete loss of worth a "lucky" circumstance? With A.I. nothing matters anymore. The only positive is that it will become relatively easy for filmmakers to stand out against the slop by actually creating something.
Does this imply that for all his previous MCU shoots he just showed up to set without a plan on what they're actually going to make? Wouldn't surprise me.
Tom Holland would call "Spider-Man" producers from "The Odyssey" set in order to "lay down the law" about filming blockbusters the Christopher Nolan way:
“I'd say, ‘We are not going to come to set and figure it out. We need to know why we are making this movie beyond the fact that it’s ‘Spider-Man 4’ and they make loads of money and we’re going to just have a big summer. Why are we making this movie?’ And Destin was super instrumental in that, but it was just really great to constantly be calling up the studio and [producers] Amy [Pascal] and Rachel [O’Connor], who I love, and be like, ‘Well, Chris is doing it this way. This is how I think we should be doing it.’ ” (via GQ)

My #RipOfTheDay is the rare German DVD for Jon Turtletaub's "Driving Me Crazy" (1991), also known as "Trabbi goes to Hollywood". It's starring Thomas Gottschalk, Billy Dee Williams, Dom DeLuise, James Tolkan, George Kennedy and Tiny Lister. Hit me up if you're interested! 🙂
The disc has been out-of-print for a while. It features the original English audio as well as the German dub with Thomas Gottschalk voicing himself. Sadly no subtitles. I also included all the bonus features I could find, but it's not much. Different trailers and a deleted scene.

@HighDefDiscNews And the UHD features a unique open matte version too, different from the 35mm scans floating around. With advantages and disadvantages, but worth a look.
My #RipOfTheDay is the brand new open matte transfer for George A. Romero's "Day of the Dead" (1985). There are some minor scratches in the first minute, but other than that it's a very clean and stable print throughout. In German and English. Hit me up if you're interested! 🙂
