@Bug_Cr4sher@MinuteNerdNews Miles’ afro-latino heritage is an important part of who he is as a character. If you take that away from him, thats not Miles Morales anymore. Also representation is important and whitewashing is an extremely racist practice.
For me it’s the opposite. The idea that his most iconic ability is actually something he had to work to make completely separately from his powers makes him, yes, stand apart, but also brings him down to earth for me. Without his shooters, he’s not REALLY Spider-Man, and, with the proper knowledge, kinda anyone can do and be that.
Hot take: I’ve always preferred organic web shooters because I like the idea that anyone can be Spider-Man.
The spider giving him web shooters leans more toward that philosophy than “Oh and btw he’s also a tech genius who just so happened to make web shooters.”
Alright! That's a wrap, re-read all the way to issue 30.
Main takeaways:
1. Comic is more enjoyable binged
2. Issue 30 isn't as bad as I thought, Issue 24 is worse than I thought
3. Megatron sucks
4. Carly is the best character
5. Characters desperately need more personality.
