Parents with school going kids residing in #Cyberabad, this may be of interest to you—

@cyberabadpolice are working on how to ease congestion especially during school hours, and have come up with a solution, probably-

How?

There are 1539 schools (Pvt & Govt) located in Cyberabad and 3000 buses transport kids. A high % of schools do not provide transport hence parents are bound to drop kids in cars, bikes, autos etc.

Now, @cyberabadpolice will be hiring-
Self Help Groups, ASHA workers, Anganwadi staff and part-time municipal sweepers as mobility attendants. They will all be enrolled with police( post background check)

These mobility attendants will pick the kid at the doorstep, safely guide them to the bus and hand them over to the onboard attendant.

They will do the same during the evening drop-off.

There will be an application, where parents will have to subscribe per quarterly or annually. The fee will be based on the distance to the school.

The app that will connect parents, schools and bus operators. Parents will be able to track the buses live. Every vehicle will have CCTV cameras connected directly to the Cyberabad Police Command and Control Centre. The tech is also mapping out smart routes so that buses can pick up students from different schools in the same area.

Traffic management-

- Plans to increase school buses from 3,000 to 15,000 to reduce daily traffic jams by up to 30%.

- Police-verified women (including ASHA and Anganwadi workers) will be hired to safely walk kids from their homes to the bus.

- A new app will manage routes, while police will monitor bus CCTV cameras in real-time from their control room.

- Cyberabad -wide meetings with parents and schools will take place before the official rollout.

- Plans to launch by June 2026

Roads are not useful in Bengaluru kind of cities. Most of the roads are blocked by parked vehicles or encroachers or traffic jams. So better not to have road at all, at least footpath should be wider so that people can walk if not drive.

BLR's congestion won't be magically solved by tech bros and Ai. What we need is more buses, metro lines and suburban trains.
Trains will take time to come, but for now focus on getting more and new buses to the city.
