The beloved voice of Ord has sadly passed away today at 85 🕊️

Francisco Reséndez, The veteran voice actor and dubbing director has passed away at the age of 85, leaving behind more than six decades of work that became part of countless childhood memories. Reséndez served as Ord’s voice during the early episodes of Dragon Tales, helping introduce Latin American audiences to the gentle, sometimes nervous dragon whose loyalty to Max, Emmy, Cassie and his friends made him one of the show’s most endearing characters.

His career extended far beyond Dragon Land. Reséndez was also remembered as a classic voice of Scooby-Doo, Commander Dot Pixis in Attack on Titan, Makarov Dreyar in Fairy Tail, and Pops in Disenchantment. Behind the microphone, he also directed Latin American dubbing for major productions including early seasons of The Simpsons and Dragon Tales.

But for a generation of young viewers, there will always be something special about hearing his voice come from that big blue dragon.

Ord was gentle, loyal and impossible not to love. Francisco Reséndez helped give that childhood favorite his voice.

Rest in peace, Don Paco. The characters may belong to animation, but the memories attached to his voice were very real. 🕊️❤️

One of the most recognizable voices in dubbing has gone silent.

Veteran voice actor Ettore Zuim has passed away at 66, leaving behind more than four decades of work across animation, anime, movies, television and video games.

For Disney fans, he became especially memorable as the Brazilian Portuguese voice of Hercules in the 1997 animated classic and David Kawena in Lilo & Stitch. DC fans also knew him as Bruce Wayne / Batman, dubbing Christian Bale throughout The Dark Knight trilogy and portraying the character in games including Batman: Arkham Origins, Arkham Knight and Injustice: Gods Among Us.

His incredible list of characters also included:

Cassandra Wilson, the legendary singer, songwriter and producer whose genre-crossing career earned her two Grammy Awards, has passed away at 70. Her longtime manager said Wilson passed peacefully at home in her native Jackson, Mississippi, surrounded by family and close friends.

Wilson became internationally acclaimed for expanding jazz beyond traditional boundaries, weaving blues, folk, R&B, country and pop into her music.

Her landmark albums included Blue Light ’Til Dawn, New Moon Daughter, and Loverly, with the latter two earning Grammy wins for Best Jazz Vocal Album. In 2001, Time famously named her “America’s Best Singer.”

Her remarkable career also included collaborations with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, The Roots, Steve Coleman, Angélique Kidjo, and Terence Blanchard. In 2015, she released Coming Forth by Day, a deeply personal tribute to Billie Holiday, and in 2022 she was named an NEA Jazz Master, one of American jazz’s highest honors.

Rest in aradise, Cassandra Wilson. She never allowed jazz to be confined to one sound, and generations of musicians will continue hearing the possibilities she opened. 🕊️

ARMY PRIVATE CHARGED WITH RAPING 12 YEAR OLD

The Army gave Jayden C. Fox four days of leave. Police say he used them to drive from Fort Bragg to Ohio for a 12-year-old runaway he met online.

August 18: Medina County grand jury. One count, first-degree rape. Up to life if convicted.

Bond: $2 million. He is still in Medina County Jail.

Trial on the docket: October 26. Police and the prosecutor’s office say the charge sheet is not finished.

The Israeli Consul General from New York, a member of the ambassador's team in the U.S., came to Harvard University to lecture students on "Israel's just struggle" and how even a neutral stance on the conflict is "antisemitic," let alone condemning Israel for war crimes in Palestine.

At the start of the speech, all the students stood up and walked out in solidarity with more than 4,000 Palestinian children brutally killed in less than a month.
