All my life I've said, there's really nothing a president can do that would have any real detrimental after on my life. I've always felt that a president couldn't really affect my job or my income. Or my ability to gain employment if I needed it.

Today, I'm retired and I'm affected. I have a pension and collect SS. Talks of cuts to SS worry me.

I'm affected just like every other American is affected. I'm affected by the price of gas ($5.29 reg/$7.99 diesel yesterday). This was caused by Trump bombing Iran. I've halted many of my road trips. I still go, but it hits my pocket a little harder.

I'm affected by the cost of food. Ground beef costs $7.50 a pound. I just paid $11.00 for a whole chicken. Sometimes I play amateur chef. Trumps tariffs have affected and is affecting most households by thousands of dollars.

Trump has fired thousands of Americans from their government jobs, claiming they were DEI hires. Many Americans have been harmed. Trump's policies on DEI has affected many large companies on their hiring practices, like Target, Walmart, and Home Depot.

So, my thoughts as a young man that presidents couldn't really affect me have been changed by this current president. Maybe back then I was a little naive and just didn't perceive it the same.
