I am deeply appalled and angry to see “Firework” used on the @WhiteHouse TikTok account as a backing track for video footage of military strikes. I did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it.

I wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing, and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments. To see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponized to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for.

My music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare.

A significant milestone for Miami-Dade County!

Tuesday, the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners approved the design contract for the full 5.6-mile Ludlam Trail, advancing this long-envisioned project into its next phase. Once completed, the trail will transform a former rail corridor into a vibrant public space that connects neighborhoods, parks, schools, businesses, and transit while creating new opportunities for walking, bicycling, running, and outdoor recreation.

Public design meetings are anticipated later this year, providing residents and stakeholders with the opportunity to help inform the final design of this transformational community asset. Together, we are one step closer to bringing this exciting vision to life for generations to come.

Today, we celebrate 250 years of American independence.

Two and a half centuries ago, our nation began with a promise: that freedom, self-government, and the rights of the people were worth fighting for. Every generation since has been called to protect that promise, expand it, and make it more real for those who come next. That work continues today.

This Fourth of July, we celebrate the country we love and recommit ourselves to the values that make America worth believing in: freedom, democracy, dignity, opportunity, and the responsibility we share to one another. Happy Independence Day, Florida.

May we honor our history by building a future worthy of it.
